News for commercial sellers | February 2023
Dear commercial sellers,
Quite a lot has happened at eBay in 2022: For example, we introduced new video features and shop updates that you can use to showcase your brand and listings successfully. The messaging system got a new look and feel to make communication with buyers easier. There were also some changes to the eBay shipping platforms.
In 2023, we will continue working on improving the eBay marketplace and keep you up to date on changes. Here’s an overview of the latest news at eBay:
- Fee adjustments on eBay.de
In spring 2023, we are lowering the final value fee in the “Coins” and “Sneakers” categories, which can have a positive effect on your revenue growth. In addition, we are adjusting the thresholds for final value fees for eBay Shops in the “DIY” and “Appliances” categories. The final value fee for low service standards has also been adjusted to encourage compliance with the minimum standards for sellers.
- More protection for sellers with a higher service standard
Sellers with Top Rated status or with the service status “Above Standard” will receive additional protection from February 1, 2023 against abusive behavior by buyers or other events beyond their control.
- Extended producer responsibility for electrical and electronic equipment
Retailers who manufacture electrical and electronic equipment will in future have to provide a WEEE number (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) when selling products and on their invoices in accordance with the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act.
