Important update for merchants in the heating & air conditioning sector
Dear sellers of split air conditioners!
The regulation on protecting the climate from changes caused by the release of certain fluorinated greenhouse gases requires that you obtain written proof from your buyers of split air conditioners that these will be installed by a certified company. Your note that the sold split air conditioner must be installed by a certified company is not sufficient. If you do not receive the relevant information from your buyer, you must cancel the transaction.
In addition, as a seller, you must keep records of the units sold and the certified companies and retain them for five years in order to provide them to the responsible authorities on request. (§ 9 para. 3 ChemKlimaschutzV; Art. 11 para. 7 and Article 7 para. 4 F-gas Regulation).
