The online dispute resolution (ODR) platform will be discontinued soon
As you know, the European Commission has so far made the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform available to consumers, which can be used to resolve disputes out of court.
This ODR platform will soon be discontinued. Sellers are therefore no longer required to link to the ODR platform.
Here you can find the details of the respective new regulation repealing the existing ODR regulation.
What is happening?
As of March 20, 2025, it will no longer be possible to submit complaints on the ODR platform.
By July 20, 2025 at the latest, all information relating to cases on the ODR platform, including personal data, will be deleted and the ODR platform itself will be shut down.
I am a consumer, what do I need to do?
You do not need to do anything. You just need to know that this tool for out-of-court dispute resolution will no longer be available. For using eBay services, you can refer to the User Agreement for handling complaints and, more generally, for resolving disputes.
I am a seller, what do I need to do?
As of July 20, 2025, listings may no longer contain any information, links, or references to the ODR platform. Since you are no longer required to link to and inform about the ODR platform, you should remove the relevant links and information in advance. You can also inform your buyers that after March 20, 2025 they will no longer be able to use the ODR platform to submit complaints.
