Taking motorcycles apart, connecting markets. The success story of GlobalMotoParts

Brandenburg. At a Christmas party in 2018, the idea was born: Why not refurbish and sell used motorcycle parts instead of letting them gather dust or be disposed of? From that idea, a company emerged – today, GlobalMotoParts is considered a pioneer in the professional trade of used spare parts. A model with a future: consignment instead of risk For Niklas Priddat and his co-founder Paul Reimann, it was clear: every motorcycle contains around 150 sellable parts that deserve a second life. From that idea, a company emerged – today, GlobalMotoParts GmbH is considered a pioneer in the professional trade of used spare parts... Read more here

      From wardrobe to founder

Lisa Samhammer recognized the potential of sustainable fashion early on. From her first sales, she quickly developed a successful online business  – and the mission to encourage other women to get started in e-commerce as well.  When Lisa Samhammer returned from Vietnam about 10 years ago after a stay abroad, something happened that was to change her life. „Suddenly I was crushed by my own wardrobe,” she says. She had lived there for six months out of a single suitcase – back in Germany, she realized how much unworn clothing had accumulated. She began selling first items online – at first completely privately. „I noticed that it really works well when you take good photos and write a proper description.” Her enjoyment of passing on clothes never left her. What started as sorting out old clothes became a small side project, then a bigger one – and eventually the idea for her own company... Read more here.

How Mathias Keller from Pankow got rich on eBay with trading cards

Living-room business with a brain: Mathias Keller first sold sports trading cards as a hobby. Today he’s mega-successful at it – via live auction. (Stefanie Hildebrandt, 01.05.2026 Berliner Kurier online). At Mathias Keller’s place in the living room, white boxes are stacked high. Inside them are thousands of sports trading cards. What started as a hobby has meanwhile become a serious business on Ebay. There are months when Keller makes 20,000 euros in revenue selling the cards across Europe and Asia.  Childhood hobby: collecting Panini stickers and trading cards Mathias Keller works as a consultant for public administrations in his actual profession. With a ton of know-how from his past at consulting giant McKinsey, he streamlines processes and optimizes workflows. No wonder he eventually tried that with his hobby too. “I started collecting sports cards as a child,” Keller says, laying his favorite treasures on the kitchen table. A Panini sticker with Bernd Schuster, a Klinsmann, a Boris Becker with an autograph. The Duisburg native was happy to blow his pocket money at the kiosk. Seven cards in a pack for 1.70 marks. That thrill when opening them and the feeling of being part of a big collecting community never let him go. But he didn’t dive into the big, wide world of trading cards until later.....
