PStTG: live Q&A webinar with tax expert on February 17 from 7–8 p.m.
Dear eBay private sellers,
We warmly invite you to our free webinar on the Platform Tax Transparency Act (PStTG).
First of all: If you sell privately, you usually don’t pay taxes. As long as you’re not making a profit or have owned your items for more than a year, the sale remains tax-free.
Nevertheless, since the introduction of the EU directive DAC7, implemented in Germany through the PStTG, numerous myths and misconceptions have been circulating online.
To clear up all these misunderstandings, we cordially invite you to ask tax expert Helen Dieckhöfer from Dieckhöfer & Partner all your questions about DAC7 / PStTG during the 60-minute webinar.

·1 year agoeBay has sales limits (30 sales), after which information is transmitted to the finance and tax authorities. How do you determine the number of sales?
A buyer can buy two identical items from one listing, two different items, or three items from two listings.

Hello @tatkonti_51! The "sales limit," as you call it, was not set by eBay itself, because the Platform Tax Transparency Act (PStTG) applies to all operators of digital platforms that meet the legal criteria.
A "transaction" is defined in the context of the reporting obligation as follows: Multiple items from a single listing by the same seller count as one transaction. In contrast, different items from different listings by the same seller are considered separate transactions.
Examples:
I think that should make everything clear now - if you still have any further questions about it, feel free to get back to me again 🙂.
Best regards
