Offer blocked due to eBay policy violation
Summary: mqxxs_verkauf, a commercial seller on eBay, reports on a listing that was blocked due to alleged violations of youth protection regulations. She claims that the games are correctly labeled with age ratings and that the appeal against the block was quickly rejected. verena@ebay, an eBay employee, explains that some games have incorrect labels and that certain shipping conditions are not being met. mqxxs_verkauf asks for the listing to be reactivated after the problematic games were removed. The importance of the listing is emphasized, since it has already generated many successful sales.
Hello,
I have been a commercial seller on eBay for over two years and had to find out this morning that one of my listings was blocked because of an alleged violation of eBay's youth protection policy. Specifically, it concerns a bulk listing with Nintendo Switch games, mostly children's games. I am being accused of not labeling all items with FSK/USK age ratings. However, that is not the case. All items are correctly labeled.
I then called eBay. I was advised to file an appeal. I did that. However, the appeal was rejected within five minutes. That seems odd to me if the review is supposedly carried out by real staff. On a second call, they couldn't give me a specific reason. When I pressed further and explained that the allegations were not true, I had even prepared evidence, all I was told was “I can't do anything about that,” and the conversation was simply ended.
Has anyone here had a similar experience and can help me? The listing had been online for over a year and sold more than 1,000 times. As a result, it was shown near the top in search results, an advantage that would be lost if it were relisted.
Kind regards

OP6 days agoHello @verena@ebay ,
Thank you very much for the quick response and the explanation, that clears up quite a bit.
Is there a possibility to reactivate the listing? We would immediately remove the affected variants or games that do not comply with the guidelines.
The images in question were merely sample images. In fact, only games with the corresponding labeling were sold. Shipping was also always done with age verification, although we always bought the shipping labels directly from the shipping provider and not through eBay, which is why this may not be visible in the system.
This listing means a lot to us, as it has been running for a very long time and has achieved over 1,000 sales. We would therefore be very grateful for a review of whether reactivation is possible under these conditions.
Kind regards

·6 days agoThe offer unfortunately cannot be reactivated. So a new offer has to be created. Best to do it right away with the correct images and shipping settings, so there won’t be any further removal.

·6 days agoHello @mqxxs_verkauf ,
thanks for your post!
I took a look at the images in your listing. I noticed several games that do not have a USK rating, but instead, for example, a PEGI or ESRB rating. These do not replace the USK ratings that apply in Germany.
In addition, the listing contains games with different age ratings, including games for ages 18 and up. Such items are subject to special youth protection requirements regarding shipping with age verification. Your listing does not meet these requirements. The removal of the listing was therefore correct.

Thanks for the flag, @perfect-sally !

·6 days agoYou shouldn't even think about relisting if your account matters to you. eBay doesn't mess around there and will restrict or completely suspend you if banned items have been relisted.
Maybe an eBay employee can add something, she'll chime in here.
@verena@ebay could you take a look please? Thanks
