I noticed that a lot of posts simply disappear, so it would be advisable to upload a list here once of which words are not allowed here or which words eBay does not want to read, so that everyone here knows how and what they are allowed to write.
I thought we live in a democracy, and that has nothing to do with netiquette if I am not insulting or threatening anyone, but only expressing my opinion.

Relevant opinions and different points of view are welcomed in the Community and can be discussed and debated in an open, calm, and reasonable way. Even on the same topic, there can be different points of view, and both are valid. Stay open to other opinions, as there are many ways to successfully sell and buy on eBay.

I can fully understand that it is confusing when posts suddenly disappear or can no longer be found 😕. In fact, automatic filters come into play here, recognizing certain terms and, if necessary, moderating them if they violate 📋Our Community Netiquette📋 or our principles of respectful communication.
Please believe me: it is not about suppressing opinions or avoiding discussions. On the contrary – critical, factual expression of opinion is expressly welcome 💬🤝! What we want to avoid together are hurtful wording, personal attacks, or content that is legally problematic.
Unfortunately, we cannot publish a complete list of blocked words – that would encourage attempts to bypass the rules and make moderation more difficult. But I understand your desire for clarity and transparency – and I take your feedback very seriously! 💡

Your opinion is welcome – as long as it is expressed in a factual and respectful way 💙
Different viewpoints may and should be discussed 🗣️

·1 year ago@katzenjogi Yesterday, however, a whole lot of mine and someone else's got special leave and there was nothing like that to be read, but fine, it is what it is, and that freedom of speech only applies with regard to the government is new to me, but let's leave it at that before someone here misunderstands something again.

first of all, freedom of opinion only applies in relation to the government, not in a private forum. And creating a list of words that are not allowed to be mentioned in the forum is in itself paradoxical, because then the list would probably have to remain empty, precisely because those words are not allowed to be mentioned here in the forum.
Although one can, and I myself can also say from my own experience, that these are primarily terms that can be interpreted in the broadest sense as vulgar language, even if such a term is part of a compound word, such as the rear end in the term commonly used for the area around one's own house or apartment. Or the word that one likes to use when describing the possibility that a certain event will probably occur.
Or simply the naming of competitors.
Otherwise the usual suspects like swear words, insults, and slurs, which can all be done without if one wants to express one's opinion.

that is exactly why, around 20 years ago, the first platforms set out the rules for “netiquette”.
Back then it was about insults (swear words), threats (including death threats), and hate.
However, one’s own opinion was not censored.
Sometimes, though, one’s own opinion is also deleted here, even if it could enliven a discussion.
That would then be “censorship”.

·1 year ago@ttd4it ,I'm completely with you there, and when it comes to such serious slander, it's also okay, or if someone insults someone, but just because you express your opinion critically here, such a company should also be able to take it, we're always lectured about every little thing anyway, and then that's just not so fair and transparent

·1 year agoI have a suggestion for the list:
"Fraud", "fraudster" etc. etc.
There may be cases here (quite a few, too) that cross legal boundaries.
One may be emotionally upset about that.
Accusing someone here of fraud can also easily be seen as "defamation" or "slander".
Freedom of expression has its limits, too.

·1 year ago@bootyooty and stuff like that is part of good netiquette? And that’s where it starts, a question gets asked and immediately a huge fuss is made and everyone gets offended, and if you can’t even ask follow-up questions anymore, well then good night.

OP1 year agoI just have the feeling @bootyooty,that you're taking everything personally right now,but that's not my intention, I just want to understand and what I usually read here and then disappears has nothing to do with shaming posts,because otherwise if it were about criticism,this community would be empty within a few minutes

OP1 year ago@bootyooty So I understand a community to mean that you should be able to be critical there sometimes, and even eBay itself writes that different viewpoints are welcome in the community, and if I write something critical, it is not a shaming post, and this is also a place to discuss things, or is it just a "help forum"

Everyone is responsible for their own posts, off-topic is deleted just like shaming posts and also posts about whether, when, and what Khoros deletes, no matter how you phrase it.
