💬 We want your opinion! 💬
Summary: The discussion revolves around the new community platform, where many participants express dissatisfaction and confusion. Several users, such as perfect-sally and mmstore74, criticize the cluttered design and complain about the mix of German and English. oskar_der_wikinger and others are critical of the AI summary, which is perceived as confusing. Some, like *mintaka*, point out the lack of features from the old platform, such as displaying recent posts and marking helpful posts. Despite some praise for faster loading times, there is overall a desire for more clarity and functionality.
Our new community is now live, and we’d love to hear what you think of the new platform. 😊
Do you have any questions, suggestions, feedback, or criticism? Is there anything missing, or do you have ideas for how we can make the community even better?

We welcome:
✅ Feedback on the new community
✅ Suggestions for improvement
✅ Questions about using the platform
✅ Reports of bugs or technical issues

de.community.team
Hello everyone,
First of all, we’d like to thank you all so much for your numerous feedback messages. 💛
Over the past few days, you’ve shared many suggestions for improvement, questions, comments, and constructive criticism with us. We’ve collected and evaluated all the feedback and passed it on to the responsible teams.
Before we get into the improvements so far and the next steps, we’d like to give you a bit of background on the switch to the community platform.
Why was the community platform changed?
The change wasn’t made just to replace something that already worked well. Rather, the new platform gives us significantly more opportunities in the long term to further develop the community and offer you a modern environment that makes new features and improvements possible.
Especially for Sellers, the new platform will open up additional opportunities in the future – for example, for more exchange among one another, more networking, new ways of sharing knowledge, and closer involvement of eBay in the community.
We want to re-establish as many of the functions and ideas you valued in the previous community as possible on the new platform, and, where it makes sense, improve them even further.
Thank you for your feedback
By now, we know which topics are especially important to you. We’re now continuing to work on them step by step.
What has already been improved
Some changes are already based directly on your feedback and could be implemented or initiated at short notice. These include, among other things:
🌍 the ongoing improvement of German localization,
🌐 additional translations and language adjustments,
🖥️ UI improvements,
🤖 a more compact display of the AI summary,
✨ as well as initial measures to make the community more user-friendly overall.
We’ve also already been able to implement the following points:
🌐 External link warning
Links to eBay-owned pages no longer show a warning that you’re leaving the community.
🎨 Links
Links are now shown in blue and underlined again, making them easier to spot.
A word on the new tree structure
The new reply system with the tree structure is also unfamiliar at first for many people. In the long term, however, it offers advantages, since replies can be clearly assigned to individual posts within a thread, making discussions easier to follow.
What we’re currently working on
In addition to the improvements already implemented, further features are already in planning or under review. These include, among other things:
💌 Private messages
🌍 A default display of the community in German as well as the option to select your preferred language directly in your profile in the future.
(Please also take a look at our post g ℹ️ Note on language display in the new community)
🧩 HTML support for posts
👀 Marking read and unread posts
✅ “Mark as solution” (in the Members helping Members area)
🖼️ Personal image library
🌙 Dark mode
🔐 More flexibility with private profiles and mentions
🛠️ Further improvements to the editor
In addition, we’re continuously working on further improvements to the platform to make the community more lively, more modern, and even better aligned with your needs.
What happens next?
Of course, not all improvements can be implemented overnight. Many adjustments require planning, coordination, and technical development – Rome wasn’t built in a day, after all.
All the more we’re pleased that the first improvements have already been implemented. Your feedback has helped us a great deal and will continue to be an important basis for the further development of the community.
That’s why we’d like to keep giving you the opportunity to share your experiences with us in the future as well. In addition, starting Wednesday (Link will be added on 15/07/2026) our survey will be available to you. There you can share both general feedback about the community and specific feedback about the platform change with us.
Thank you for helping shape the community with your knowledge, your ideas, and your commitment. Together, we can develop the new community step by step into a place where everyone enjoys exchanging ideas and supporting one another. 💛

·1 month agoHello
I’m sorry, but I don’t understand the system of this new community platform at all anymore ...
for most topics I can only read along, if at all,
often I even get " ... forbidden ... " displayed
I only got into the forum "Experienced Sellers" after several attempts, even though I’ve been a "member" for years
so, as has already been mentioned several times by others, this way you can also limit the "exchange" to a minimum
What a shame

·1 month ago · EditedI have the posts in threads displayed by 'Oldest first' - just like in the old community. In long threads, you need to load more posts at the bottom of the page with a click. More loading becomes necessary the longer threads get.
Now to the problem: If I switch tabs to visit another website and then switch back to the community, the posts that were just loaded collapse again. They have to be loaded again. I have this problem with Firefox and can reproduce it in freshly installed Chrome. Even if I switch tabs and come back within a second, what I described happens.
Best regards from "beta tester" mrkuros *shakes head* Bugs like this, as well as the ones described from 19/06, I would 'expect' from a privately run open-source project, but not from commercial, proprietary software.

·1 month ago · EditedAs a customer from Greece you are a borderline terrible experience.
a) Support doesn't offer a telephone number that can be called from Greece and doesn't call back to Greece. On top of that the AI talks only in german... (having that said support contact is terrible even if one isnt from greece since the only german AI even if you use an other AI to translate and talk to it in german it basically CANT be convinced to connect you to a support representative or give you an email, or forward a ticket etc it's mean in the sense that it completely ignores you and just parrots back the same things as if its a 90s chatbot and not an actual dLLM language model and it's so stubborn and also basically knows nothing useful about you complaint anyway or any other process or policy besides like stupidly self-explanatory things that a 13yo would know, usually when people resort on searching on how to talk to support their issue has an intricacy and isnt self explanatory )
b) Shipping methods (and subsequently product presentation based on shipping region) are bad, and for a variety of reasons that apply to each individual case on a spectrum or all together.
For example:
There are people that want to ship to Greece but you don't include them because your listing‑creation wizard doesn't have this in mind and excludes this option in various ways (especially after a sale there is practically no way to make the sale by changing the shipping origin to Greece from the seller side of things, other than cancel the item or lie to you and make you think he ships to Germany while he ships to Greece). <--- this has also a side effect many products on a search using their exact model etc now showing to the greek customer because the system things seller wants to sell to most european countries but not greece...
Many times, while shipping to EU countries is listed (and that includes eBay Plus / native eBay seller listings), Greece is not included as a destination as if Greece is not in the EU...
eBay shipping costs to Greece are inflated compared to shipping costs offered if you manually ship something from the same origin using the same company, and I am not talking about a small margin of profit — sometimes it's more than double the price (and I am talking about the prices applied by eBay by default).
And many other such issues regarding shipping.
c) Klarna doesn't work, not even if I use my German Klarna with a German card, because the destination is Greece (again a EU country... EU is supposed to be about united commerce...). And I doubt it's a Klarna issue because, for example, I ordered things from another platform with destination Greece, and I have used the 3‑month installment Klarna scheme with my Greek Klarna account.
Since I mentioned the other platform, ebay.de acts as an onestopshop for listings that one purchase via ebay.de but are located in other countries e.g me as a greek if I go to ebay.de and find a listing in the UK or US etc and buy it then ebay.de is responsible for shipping it to me (and the inflated shipping prices that don't exist for other EU countries, or the other shipping issues mentioned above, apply — but I digress). As a one‑stop‑shop you also collect a fee for VAT and for processing my shipment.
Yes, that doesn't include ANY potential scenario that needs SPECIAL procedure to pass a country and SPECIAL taxes for that particular item, etc., but it includes the STANDARD fees to pass standard items (phones, books, etc.). Sometimes, while you collect that fee, you forget to do the right paperwork and the item arrives here asking for VAT while VAT is already paid, or asking for other fees related to STANDARD customs processes for STANDARD items (not special chemicals or other regulated substances, technology, weapons, etc.).
The same thing is what the other platform does, and I never had an issue with them. I ordered a lot more items from them (and from a much bigger variety, so even more prone to be slightly non‑standard) and never had an issue — everything was prepaid at the checkout of the other platform, I didn't have to double‑pay something at the post office!
With you this happened to me twice, I think, if not more. (Again I repeat: while eBay took an amount for VAT and fees.)

·1 month agoHello @miriam@ebay @steffi@ebay @patrick@ebay
I’ve been looking at this sad state of affairs here irregularly for over two weeks now, and as I already wrote to Miriam, you’ve now lost me for good!
Small example:
If an IT team can’t even manage to set a link correctly after more than two weeks, which really isn’t rocket science, then I’m seeing a very dark future for eBay’s IT.
In my opinion, nothing is being improved here, only the pitiful and embarrassing status quo is being managed.
As I suspect, and as is confirmed to me by the absence of numerous familiar names, I’m not the only one who feels this way!
So I’ll personally drop in here from time to time, but I’ll only post myself if I can’t get any further elsewhere.
Well, you can also save yourself work and unwelcome comments by scaring people off - that can be a concept too! ;-)
Regards
Andy
P.S.
I’m well aware that you yourselves bear no blame for this misery, and that this new forum (I won’t write the word that came to mind) was imposed on you by the “highly paid”.
Too bad they probably won’t take any of the criticism on board!
patrick@ebay
Hello @imperial-modellbau after your first hint, the link in Cockpit was changed and also worked accordingly. Why it has now been "reverted" again is new to me. I had even checked it in various accounts. But it is not the sole way to get into the community, and therefore it should not be judged by how things work or what competencies someone has where and how. Your commercial activity is also not being evaluated or questioned, and I would wish that you use your energy & frustration as an outlet in a different way.
That it is and will be an adjustment for everyone is clear. We also have to adapt and get used to it; over time, the little things should also be fixed step by step. A return to the previous community platform is excluded, however. It is not the first change, and so far every change to a new platform has involved getting used to it as well as a few construction sites.
I will let you know again that the linking needs to be improved.
Best regards
Patrick

Hello @imperial-modellbau something that just came to mind and that I forgot on my end. You can also adjust and change the short links yourself at any time.

·1 month agoHello @patrick@ebay
that you can't answer any differently is probably clear not only to me!
And the fact that it wasn't about finding a way into the forum should also be clear enough!!!
If a company already makes such mistakes at the entrance, that allows conclusions to be drawn about its general way of working and sows doubt about its competence - that simply can't be argued away, even if you're forced to do so!
Your dig at the assessment or questioning of my commercial activity was beneath your dignity!
I would even be glad if Ebay would question that, because I have nothing to reproach myself for - at the same time, however, I would then also expect all other sellers to be questioned as well - that would be fun!
And where I vent my energy and my frustration, you'll have to leave up to me.
Be that as it may, I'm definitely not going to keep messing around with this anymore - see how you manage!

one more question:
What’s the point / benefit of a so-called "mentor status" if it isn’t shown anywhere that a mentor has replied?
Really a shame that the "new" community has to be this way. In the "old" one, not everything always worked either, but over time it got much better. Feels like the IT folks here take way too long to "fix" something. And if, of course, everything first has to be "passed along," who knows how long it takes until it gets to the right place.
#never change a running system :(
patrick@ebay
Hello @perfect-sally regarding being displayed as a mentor, we still need to be patient there. As you know, there were technical problems and they had to be fixed in another way at short notice.
At Khoros, something like that would actually have taken even longer, among other things. The switch happened for a wide variety of reasons - there will be no going back.

lidor3073
·1 month ago · EditedHello everyone,
after already having to get annoyed about blocked messages, here comes the next technical highlight of the “new” community platform: the search function is completely unusable and badly implemented.
If you search here for terms like “blocked messages,” you don’t get a proper text search result, but an unfinished, American form shoved in your face. The system seriously demands a US ZIP code, suggests “San Jose” as the city, filters by the country “United States of America,” and wants to know a search radius in “mi” (miles)!
On top of that, half of the filter mask isn’t even translated (fragments like “Enter a zip code to adjust radius”, “Main posts only” or “Posts vs Replies”).
Dear eBay IT: you’ve simply slapped a US standard design for local events onto the German help forum without adapting it to the German market or the logic of forum text search. It’s absolutely impossible to search the community properly for existing/already described problems!
Note: This also applies here: smart remarks from “pro mentors” saying you can just use Google are unnecessary. If eBay offers its own search function, then it damn well has to work flawlessly and in German.
Please, dear moderators, urgently pass this unfinished work-in-progress state on to tech support!

steffi@ebay
Hello @*sweet-melody* , first of all, thank you very much for the screenshots and also for your kind words. 💛 I’m really very happy about that! 🤗
I actually still have two questions about your screenshots:
🔹 Overlapping tabs:
Could you please describe step by step how you get to this view? Which tabs or menus do you open exactly until the views overlap like that? That would really help me reproduce the problem and pass it on in a targeted way. 📝
🔹 Separation lines:
You wrote that the dividing lines should be stronger. Could you perhaps mark or sketch in a screenshot where exactly you would like stronger lines? Then I can pass that on very specifically. 😊
As for the quote function, just a small note: it works a bit differently now than in the old community. I actually had to learn that too at first. 😅
When you click the quote icon, a gray field appears. There you can simply paste in the text you want to quote. Unfortunately, there is no automatic transfer of the selected text anymore.
And as for the color: I can already make you a small promise there. 😉💙 There will be more color in the community again! We want to make the community friendlier and livelier step by step.
Thank you for putting in so much effort and supporting us with your feedback! G💛

·1 month agoHello Steffi,
first of all, the AI summary can go. In the time I spent reading that nonsense, I had already read all the headings
of all the posts. On top of that, the summary also makes the page take longer to load.
Then the posts should generally be displayed left-aligned and not centered. When loading, that only works until the end, then it jumps back to the middle and is incredibly annoying, and attention span suffers when the display shifts again.
I can still rate myself. -:)
Why has it gotten so tiny? (e.g. when I want to quote something)
So far so good. There are more things, of course, as has already been mentioned.
But what I keep asking myself every time is, how can a system like that just be put online?
Does no one check it beforehand? (never touch a running System)
Can’t you just explain to people what the point of the change was?

·1 month agoGreat, every time you think it can't get any worse, ebbay finds a way to prove me wrong.
Bad AI,
miserable support,
no rights anymore,
maybe even a censored community, you have to expect anything
more and more patronizing, etc.
and then this !
An important and functioning system that was the last lifeline for many is being destroyed !!!
Too bad, but at some point you also have to preserve your dignity and find other ways.
steffi@ebay
Hello @die_moebeljaner , I can tell how much frustration and disappointment you're feeling right now, and honestly, I can understand that. 💛
So many changes are happening all at once right now, while not everything is running smoothly yet. Especially when you've been using the community for a long time and know what value it has for many members, of course that feels particularly difficult.
What's important to me personally is that your feedback is heard. That's why I've been collecting everything you've reported over the past few days in terms of criticism, wishes, bugs, and suggestions for improvement, and passing it on bundled up to the relevant teams. 📝
At the same time, though, I also hope we don't lose sight of the potential that a fresh start like this can bring.
Especially for sellers, there will in future be opportunities that we didn't have in the old community, or only to a limited extent – for example when it comes to networking, exchanging ideas with one another, or also a stronger involvement of eBay itself. 🤝
Right now, we're trying to re-establish here many of the things that worked well in the previous community. At the same time, we want to use the opportunity to improve things and create new possibilities for you in the long term. 🚀
That something like this doesn't happen overnight is probably understandable. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day.
Still, I hope you'll give the community a little more time. It would be a shame if committed, long-standing members like you were to leave. 🤝
Even though I can't solve everything right away, I can promise you that I will continue to work with full commitment to make sure your feedback reaches us, challenges become visible, and improvements are initiated. 💛

·1 month agoHello Steffi,
the main reason why I requested the account closure and what was the last straw is eBay's treatment of buyers.
The seller simply does not ship the goods (price too low) but is still allowed to list items.
I, as the buyer, am treated like a perpetrator, get nonsensical answers from the AI sometimes in English, sometimes in German, and don't get the seller's contact details, etc.
How am I supposed to trust eBay when unreliable and unscrupulous sellers are allowed to do as they please and buyers are treated like dirt.
I don't want this kind of treatment from eBay anymore.
Bad sellers are protected and encouraged,
buyers are punished and treated like little children.
And then the constant changes and deteriorations are simply no longer acceptable.
It's really sad how eBay has developed.
steffi@ebay
Hello @die_moebeljaner , thank you very much for sharing your thoughts so openly with me. 💛 I can well understand that these experiences are bothering you.
However, since this area is intended exclusively for feedback and discussions about the community itself, I unfortunately cannot go into the topics you described here in more detail.
But I would be very happy if you would continue the topic in the designated area „Doing business & discussing“. It fits the subject much better there and can also be discussed in a more targeted way:

Thank you for your understanding! 😊

one more from me 😉
Example of this post:
https://community.ebay.de/forum/vorschl%C3%A4ge-und-r%C3%BCckmeldungen-zur-ebay-plattform-18/topic/implementierung-des-widerrufsbuttons-auf-ihrer-plattform-ab-dem-19062026-7790/
In the overview it showed/shows that the last reply was 44 minutes ago; when I open this post, I actually get the newest reply first (that’s how it’s set).
At least supposedly, because the apparently newest one is from @hasjana and that one is 2 days old.
Now I have to search the whole post! to then find the last reply from @perfect-sally somewhere below the middle.
That really can’t be right. What kind of crap is that?
Who on earth feels like spending hours searching for the last reply in long posts?
Or am I just too stupid for the new software?

·1 month ago · EditedHi @sunrise1605 Not even poor man’s trick 17 works: CTRL + F and search for the post’s time. Because unfortunately the time isn’t given in the posts.
EDIT: Does this apply to posts that are older than XY days?

I just posted in the mental grab-bag {Cafe) 10 minutes ago,
then refreshed, and now?
Apparently the AI runs on a different clock, because the system says: last reply 8 hours ago.
Eight hours?... That’s U.S. time, it’s still night there

What kind of question.... MAKE IT EVEN BETTER ? Nothing is even remotely good; it's more like a complete failure, I can't read anything positive here. I'd be for everything returned please.

·1 month agoSpecific suggestion:
Rename the section "Members help members", because it has the completely wrong name !
It should rather be called "Mentors help members", because that reflects the truth !
Since most of what's happening now seems to take place in this section, I no longer see any point in checking the forum more often, because I can't reply there anyway.
Best regards

Mentor 30 minutes ago
Only mentors, eBay staff, and the thread starters can reply here.
No one is forced to choose this board for their post.
Hello Thomas,
since eBay, in its infinite wisdom, has done away with the private message function and I, as a "member", can't reply in this area anyway, I'll just write you my opinion here!
I think your sarcasm is a bit out of place - sure, no one is forced to do it - but it's also not made very clear that "only" mentors and staff are allowed to reply, just a small sentence under the heading that a "new" person looking for help also has to understand first !
After all, a "new" person can't possibly know these distinctions - think about it ! ! !

·1 month agoHello, in my eyes the new community, with its lack of clarity and poor intuitiveness, is a synonym for the overall direction of Ebay Germany !!! Instead of moving toward the users, development is happening in a vacuum, I suspect where the hourly wage is cheap, but unfortunately where a different cultural understanding also prevails. But unfortunately I lack the willingness for this yoga exercise, or maybe I’m just undereducated !!

·1 month agoHello
I completely have to agree with you here, it's way too confusing; I'm past the age of hunting around for things. Back then I could still check in on my smartphone in the evening, but now my smartphone is, like me, "too old".
Well, it's not that important here anyway, so buying a different phone for that—no thanks.

·1 month agoAnd here’s the issue I have with the drama: "Some members, such as mp2pa2 and mc4pe, express a desire to go back to the old platform or see the redesign as a step backward."
mc4dpe, that’s me, and mp2pa2 is @mmstore74 . I have neither expressed this desire, nor does the second point apply to me. Criticizing individual points is already interpreted by the AI as criticism of the entire redesign 👎

·1 month ago · EditedA) When setting the profile background image, you can move it vertically, i.e. align it up and down. After saving, the system forgets the alignment and the image section is generally shown from the top.
This is how it should be:
This is the result in the profile:

B) As soon as I inserted an image in this message, the following bugs occur:
B.1. If something previously copied is to be pasted (copy/paste), the content is inserted twice. Example: https://www.ebay.de/https://www.ebay.de/
B.2. Pressing the Enter key does not just trigger a line break, which is correct, but a paragraph break. As if the key had been pressed twice.
C) When writing a longer post, I would like to have back the option to enlarge the text window downward. So that a typed message is fully visible and easy to view and does not need to be scrolled.
D) While writing this message, the system crashed three times...

·1 month agoI’ve tried it for 3 days now and I just can’t cope with how confusing it is.
Maybe I’m like @sammlerkiste-1-2-3 - too old? All the English sprinkled everywhere is really getting on my nerves.
Back then I could quickly check on my phone in the evening whether someone had said anything important; now I need a translator. Twice I sent messages to SPAM because I simply didn’t understand that they came from eBay. And 2 weeks ago eBay blocked the app for me, on the grounds that not only I, but also my smartphone, was too old.
Why “other regions” (Belgium and the Netherlands) should be important to me and offered here isn’t clear to me. Why we now have a lounge for commercial stuff instead of talking about selling is also a mystery.
I was used to posts appearing right away. We had the piglet filter and moderate moderator censorship in the old forum, but why are posts and new topics being held back now and have to be approved first? At least I’ve noticed that 2x already.
In short - I’m stepping away for a while for now and will at most just read along. Maybe I’ll figure out the structure soon and be back sooner than expected.
The old forum was a real added value from eBay - I still haven’t got the hang of this one.

·1 month agoUgh, maybe I'm already too old, but I just can't get to grips with the structure at all !?
It feels like I also can't answer every second question, because only mentors can reply there .... can't these questions be hidden completely? Why should I read through that if you can't reply anyway ...
Anyway, I'll take care of my second problem child first; eBay has driven many sellers to Amazon, so we have to get back up to speed there too ... Shame, in the past eBay, Oldthing (Hood/delcampe) and our own online shop were enough :-(
I wish everyone lots of fun, good luck and good business .... I'll give myself a little heart again :-)

·1 month ago · EditedWhen I go back from my notifications to the overview, part of the text is displayed in English for a short time.
It was pointed out here because of the English text by Steffi to browser settings. IMHO you (eBay) are making it too easy for yourselves. I have never had this problem on any other site. Incidentally, the page also takes quite a long time to load.

·1 month ago · EditedUnfortunately, that was a total flop. So incredibly cluttered and unstructured. It takes ten times as long to create a post. A list of all new posts is no longer available. You keep getting lost in the jungle. What’s the bitten cookie doing in the middle of the image, for example? As long as there are lots of clicks again. Please just go back to the old version.

·1 month agoEven though it has already been brought up several times, once again:
There is still a lot in English
- Notification emails are in English
- At the top right, the messages “behind the bell” (mentions/replies) are in English
- When you go into the settings, the selection menus are also in English (enable disable etc), notification settings are all in English too
..... or have I still not found the button where I have to tell the AI that as a German on German eBay I am not an Englishman :-)

·1 month agoHello Steffi
It would be nice if topics that ended up in the wrong section weren’t deleted, but instead moved to the right one; technically that shouldn’t be rocket science.... In this case though it doesn’t matter, I was able to help the person asking the question, and only after that was it deleted by you ;-)

·1 month agoWhat I find especially embarrassing is that the link in the seller cockpit first leads to a "non-existent" page.
Sorry Ebay, but that’s pretty much a major rookie mistake - did you let the intern handle that ?
patrick@ebay
Hello @imperial-modellbau
It’s understandable that a broken link is annoying. But jumping from a single broken link straight to “rookie mistake” or “intern” is a bit unfair. Especially on large platforms, pages, redirects, permissions, and rollouts often run across multiple systems. A link can temporarily lead nowhere without that meaning anyone lacks competence.
A more constructive approach would be: report the error so it can be fixed quickly. Criticism is justified, but personal put-downs are not so much.
Best regards

·1 month ago · EditedHello @patrick@ebay
I see it differently - for a globally operating company, it is simply not appropriate to make such major blunders.
I am fully aware of the pressure behind it, technically and time-wise - but as the saying goes: If I do something, I might as well do it right !
In my opinion, what has been delivered here is simply unworthy of Ebay !
In addition, most topics have been moved to the "Members help members" area, where I can't reply.
Primarily because of that, but also because of the already mentioned poor performance, as well as the, in my view, completely unnecessary and annoying changes, I will mostly withdraw from the forum.
Take care
Andy

dmary56
·1 month ago · EditedSo, I’ve taken a closer look at this now and, to be honest, I can’t see any added value over the old community at all — quite the opposite. Of course, I’m aware that new features usually don’t work right from the start and need time to reach maturity. So I do expect that obvious issues like the ones mentioned below will still be fixed:
the ability to give yourself "Likes"
the ability to change posts even after days
the lack of a quoting function....
the last person to write is no longer shown and so on and so on
I can live with things like that for now or be patient.....
What I think is an absolute catastrophe is the nested display of posts as a result of the reply function...the chronological arrival of individual posts is no longer obvious at first glance, there’s no longer a clear thread running through the individual threads...where I used to have a direct
overview of all the replies received, now I have to be extremely careful not to overlook anything...I certainly don’t see this as a simplification when I now have to spend more time and am just clicking around. I’m also sure that some posts will be missed because of this. I always saw this community as something special because its visual presentation set it pleasantly apart from others (even if it was anything but perfect) ..... now it’s become the same old monotonous mush à la Facebook and co. and has lost what made it special. Instead of continuing to stand out in a pleasing way, it’s better to follow the general trend.
The pinnacle is this AI summary at the start of a thread...what’s that supposed to achieve? What added value is supposed to be behind it? Are adults supposed to be helped to grasp a thread
as a whole and understand it because they can no longer manage that themselves?
Quite apart from the fact that these AI-generated texts contain ridiculous misinterpretations of what the OP and respondents really wrote....
If you can’t opt out of these AI texts in the future, then this won’t be my eBay community anymore....there are things you really shouldn’t put yourself through
Just a shame 😔

·1 month agoGood morning everyone,
I’m actually only here in the forum as a reader.
Yes, this new layout is new and yes, compared to before, it takes a lot of getting used to.
My assessment, as many have already read, is that the old community was better structured.
My personal opinion is as follows:
if I’m not mistaken, the bar at the top is the same as the bar on the left. In my opinion, having the same thing twice is unnecessary and just takes up space
on my desktop only the middle is labeled, I don’t know whether it’s the same for everyone, but more than half of the screen is white - why? unnecessary scrolling
because of the reply function to individual comments, I personally have a hard time following the order of events - it was much better before with the milestone numbering - with the individual branches it’s a bit difficult
the AI summary is absolutely unnecessary, if someone is interested they’ll read through everything or leave it be
before, you could also see more clearly whether a new comment had been added and where you had stopped reading
recognizing a solution was also highlighted better
When it comes to new things, you’re always a bit skeptical at first, but it was better before. Maybe it would have been better to improve the old forum instead of programming a completely new one.
I hope I haven’t stepped on anyone’s toes with my assessment.
I wish everyone a wonderful sunny day
Best regards
