Incorrect grammar in the validation message

Question

If I leave the “Text” field blank in the “New Message” form for a forum and submit it, the following error message appears: “Enter 10 or more characters here.”

The imperative of “give” is “give,” not “gives.”

You're absolutely right, of course – the message „Gebe hier 10 oder mehr Zeichen ein.“ is grammatically incorrect. The imperative of geben is correctly „Gib hier 10 oder mehr Zeichen ein.“ 💬✨

Maybe the original poster will soon start correcting all the postings here grammatically and orthographically too, if he feels up to it. Still, he'd be at it for another 100 years. 😂

Aside from that: With the imperative form of "give," you can definitely make a mistake dialectally, in sociolect, or colloquially. And then it's only half as bad. Standard language is also subject to constant change.

Could it be that boredom is setting in, or why is thread after thread being opened instead of summarizing everything together?

There are plenty of errors like this on eBay, but there are really more important problems that eBay should tackle first!
