Hi Steffi,

I wish you a happy, healthy, and successful New Year 2026.

I just tried to send you a private message, but it was rejected, so I’m posting my question here in the forum.

I didn’t want to bother you with this nonsense right at the start of the year.

In particular, the last sentence confused me a bit; it almost sounds like exclusion from the community.

Well, if that’s the case, I’ll unfortunately have to keep withdrawing further from the community if I’m no longer allowed to reply the way the writer is speaking into the forest.

I got a warning for threatening and insulting, because I jokingly wrote about how long one can keep harping on a (trivial) topic.

To this day, I still can't see any insult or threat in that.

I'm not Steffi, but I've also received these moderator warnings.

Whether they're justified or not, I'll leave open.

But I can tell you that this thread here will probably be removed, because open criticism of the moderators or comments on the way they work isn't really welcome here either, there's definitely something about it somewhere in the netiquette.

@patrick@ebay once described my writing style as, let's say, too provocative in some respects and asked me to tone it down a bit.

For now that's working pretty well for me, even though I'd sometimes like to reply the way some users go off on me.

All that helps here is a beer and keeping your fingers off the keyboard.
