New eBay employees in the forum
Hello and good day!
For a few weeks now there have been a few new employees who can be brought in,
when no further help for questioners is possible without additional background knowledge.
But how do you know who is reachable when?
In theory, you could look on the profile page to see who is currently online (green dot).
However, you would also need to know the names that you have to enter in the search.
That is why I’m asking:
What are the names of the new employees, so that you can search specifically for who you might be able to tag if necessary.

Hello @dmary56, a valid question from you! We initially considered putting the board where the colleagues write who is helping in the community on each given day into the public area, but then decided against it.
The community is primarily a place where our members are meant to exchange ideas with one another.
The Community Team is only there in the background for when difficulties arise that cannot be solved by the members themselves. If that is the case, the mentors know when they can reach us.
In addition, we naturally also actively follow the posts in the community so that we can step in directly and help when needed.
Of course, like all other members, you can see who belongs to the team of the new colleagues by simply entering Community Support Team in the search and then selecting "Users" to get this view

OP2 years agoThank you very much @steffi@ebay
I hadn't even thought of that way of searching!

·2 years agoNot only would the names be important, but even who, for example, is "on duty" today.
Then you wouldn’t have to search through everyone.
The mentors seem to be informed about this (?).
Question is whether everyone should know; it would be helpful, though.

·2 years agoAs already written, I think that's intentional, so that not everyone knows in order to keep employees' tagging to a manageable level and not let just anyone tag whenever they feel like it.
Unfortunately, there are already such specialists here who sometimes go way overboard with the tagging because they find out who's currently present.
And the new employees are probably not just there to respond to tags, but also have other things to do.

OP2 years agoSo I think that those who "abuse" this marking function, for whatever reasons
they may, will keep doing it anyway....they'll certainly take all the time in the world to comb through all the
posts accordingly....
Sure, there would also be a way to restrict the marking function in case of abuse...
For everyone else who genuinely wants to help, it would definitely be helpful to at least know the staff by name....

·2 years agoExactly, anyone can just tag some random name. As I've noticed, sometimes someone else replies, sometimes no one at all.
@KI isn't possible. 😆
And more often I get the feeling that the question from the newcomers isn't being read or understood properly.

Sorry, I don't think this is the right place to talk about the quality
of certain employees....
If you think wrong answers are coming up, you can address them in the thread
and refute statements accordingly.

I’m very happy to take your feedback to our next meeting @dmary56

·2 years agoThat was my suspicion, that it’s intentionally not supposed to be so public who’s currently on the ball.

·2 years agoThat’s exactly what this was introduced for:

of course it only works if the employees chime in 😉

This lounge is only for mentors after all!

·2 years agoI think this is intended so that just anyone doesn’t tag the employees.
