Blurry display of the avatar in messages
Hello dear moderators,
I have revised my profile picture, which I use for the eBay website and the community. The original is 500x500 pixels in PNG format. In the community, after uploading it under "My Profile," it is also displayed well with downscaled 150x150 pixels. In posts, however, it is loaded at 40x40 and stretched to 60x60 (Image A). Stretched images lead to the following blur (Image B):
A)
B)
You can also see this resolution in the image URL:
https://community.ebay.de/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/138795iD1152ADD1A00D343/image-dimensions/40x40/image-coordinates/0%2C0%2C492%2C492/constrain-image/false?v=v2
For other users, I see sharper images. There, a picture with a maximum of 150x150 is loaded correctly and then downscaled to 60x60 for display = sharpness is preserved. If I display the HTML code in the browser and change the value for the image to 150x150 in the script (?), the image is reloaded and displayed nicely:
<img class="lia-user-avatar-message" title="mrkuros" alt="mrkuros" id="imagedisplay" src="/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/138797i6BC9F6BA9FAE59E0/image-dimensions/150x150/image-coordinates/0%2C0%2C500%2C500/constrain-image/false?v=v2">
I have the display problem with lower and higher image resolutions, other image formats, and also other image motifs. The images are always loaded at 40x40 and stretched to 60x60 = blur.

Hello @mrkuros, I wanted to let you know briefly: I’m now in contact with the Khoros team, and we’re working together to achieve a possible update to the community feature that could fix this behavior in the future. 🔧✨
It may take some time — but your hint was super valuable 💡 and was what kicked off this process in the first place. I’ll keep you posted as soon as there are any updates! 📬

Hello @mrkuros, thank you very much for your note and the detailed description! 🙏
The image blurriness issue you described apparently happens because your profile picture in posts is loaded at 40x40 pixels and then stretched to 60x60 – instead of being embedded directly in higher resolution. 📸🔍
Your comparison with the 150x150 images of other members clearly shows that there is room for improvement here. 👍 I’m happy to pass this on to our Khoros team so it can be checked whether the display can be improved. 🛠️
Thanks for your commitment and your patience! 💙
