Christmas wish
Summary: steffi@ebay suggested adding a dropdown feature to list available eBay employees for assistance, but perfect-sally and dmary56 disagreed, noting potential chaos and unnecessary workload. *sweet-melody* appreciated the support from eBay staff and felt access should be user-dependent. The discussion highlighted issues with forum functionality and visibility of posts. steffi@ebay acknowledged requests for better visibility of staff within the community, recommending mentors to determine when staff assistance is needed.
@*sweet-melody* I moved your post to the correct section
Good day!
It’s not Christmas yet, but I’d still like to make a wish.
Namely, a dropdown where the eBay employees who can be brought in
in case of difficulties are listed. Also, somewhere you can see who is online
and reachable.
Looking forward to it, @*sweet-melody*

·1 month agoAnother wish.....
I don't know whether this is the right place now.
I had just expressed a new wish, which has now somehow drifted off into nirvana
.
I would like the vertical arrangement of the individual posts back.
Reading quickly tires the eyes and looks disharmonious
Then stronger visibility of the borders of the individual posts. Another wish ....
that the name of the poster I'm replying to be made visible again, so that I
don't have to keep marking them all the time. At the moment you can't see who I'm replying to,
if I don't mark it.
That's it for the moment......
Thanks for reading, if the post doesn't disappear again!

I’m not sure whether this additional post is in the right
category. If not, could you please move it?
Many thanks! .♥️

·1 month agoHi, @perfect-sally ,
the little post where I thank you, because you also looked,
is gone too. Only the thumbs up has remained.

Hello @dmary56
I see it a little differently. I was under the impression that the nice ladies and gentlemen were
hired specifically for us as support so that even the difficult cases could be resolved
. They had more access to the accounts and did a very good job and still do. I just wanted to say that here.
Many thanks for that!
Personally, I always checked who was online. But I also have no problem
contacting you and asking. Sometimes some posts remain unanswered for longer
because they ended up in the café.
I am not one of those posters who ask for help ruthlessly.
But I haven't noticed anyone like that either.
And I also think that everyone should decide for themselves.
After all, you are not responsible for the employees, that is eBay.
Have a nice evening!

and yet back then things were already being marked needlessly and chaos was complete.
And as written, not everyone who is online at this time is also responsible for the community.
As far as I'm concerned, ebay or the platform operator can handle it however they want, but then they also have to deal with the consequences.
Right now, it isn't any fun helping others here anyway because nothing works the way it's supposed to and once again we've been thrown in at the deep end.
And questions about eBay functions or about what doesn't work or doesn't work properly are met with no answers at all because the people responsible for the platform are busy elsewhere.
Nevertheless, I respect your opinion, although mine is not the same. As always, others will decide that anyway.
Have a nice evening too

"You’re not responsible for the employees, that’s eBay."
That’s exactly how it is....so they must have thought that through a bit when they made the option to
check who is on duty right now accessible only to mentors....they can make a preliminary selection as to whether the employees even need to step in.... although anyone who has an urgent problem can contact the Community Team at any time.

·1 month agoHello @dmary56 ,
who is the community team now?
The mentors, the nice ladies and the one gentleman, or
the moderators?

·1 month agoThe nice ladies and the gentleman aren't always online, @*sweet-melody* .
It can also be the case that one of the ebay employees isn't feeling well, then another ebay employee steps in.
steffi@ebay
Good morning @*sweet-melody* , that is actually a request we have already passed along. 💛
Many members have wished that eBay employees in the community were easier to identify and that you could also see who is online right now or actively helping. 👀💙
At the moment, though, the Community Support Team is fortunately very active and already helping out in many places in the community. This usually makes it fairly easy to see who is currently active and can be tagged if needed. 🙌
In general, however, I would recommend leaving this to the mentors. They often have a very good sense of where support from eBay is needed and where the community may be able to answer the question on its own. 🤝✨
A better overview of active eBay employees as well as clearer labeling of official accounts would, in my view, also contribute to a clearer layout.
Kind regards
Steffi 🌷

seeing who is online wouldn’t really help much, since the ladies and the gentleman who may be online aren’t automatically responsible for the community at that moment.
And I think it’s enough if the mentors know who is currently responsible for the community, because otherwise there will be a flood of mentions from "Hinz & Kunz" where it might not even be necessary in some cases. It’s worked well so far the way it was before.
dmary56
·1 month agoHello @perfect-sally , I have to fully agree with you on that. The employees would get nothing else done. Anyone who absolutely wants that privilege can apply at the MHM.
perfect-sally
·1 month agoHello @dmary56
you could already see on the "old" platform that people were marking all over the place even though the ladies weren't even present.
To prevent that too, I think it should be left as it is and the mentors can see or will be notified who is responsible / present. Anything else would be even more chaos than there already is now with all this new stuff here.
dmary56
·1 month ago@perfect-sally I also thought it was a shame at first that not everyone can mark things.
But by now I’ve been proved wrong; you can’t keep making the girls jump in all the time... they’re important when it comes to things where someone needs to look into the account or with particularly complicated problems.
perfect-sally
·1 month ago@dmary56 that's exactly how I see it too. There are quite a few things that can be handled without one of the ladies, and I'm also glad that we have them.
