Who is allowed to reply under the section: Members help members?
Summary: The discussion thread is about who is allowed to reply in the “Members Help Members” section. kaufbeuren2009 raises the question, while turbotuentchen and others, such as perfect-sally and drosendorfer, join in the discussion. No specific details or answers on the topic are discussed. The conversation remains general and without any specific conclusions.
Hello community,
which members are allowed to post or reply in the section: Communitiy Info - Members help members? I don't see any option here that would let me reply too.
Is this only allowed for "selected" members? Or do I need to change/add something under my personal details so that I can reply as well. If that is the case: please post a specific guide in the reply.
If this is actually reserved only for selected members: how are they selected? Who is allowed to reply?
Many thanks

OP5 months agoThanks for the answer - I took a look at the guidelines for the Mentor Program. I think it’s basically a good thing.
Why did I ask my question?
I find most answers really helpful, detailed, and high quality. You can also see that problems have often been solved through this channel.
I would actually like to improve some of the answers.
From some questioners’ reactions, you can see that the answer was incomprehensible to him/her. From my point of view, the expert’s answer has to be written in such a way that the questioner can actually understand it.

·5 months agoIf a questioner doesn't understand something, he or she can of course ask again at any time! We are not trained answerers of questions, and everyone here answers in whatever way comes naturally to them. For more specific and more detailed answers, the eBay staff can be invited to join at any time if they are present.

·5 months agoSome questioners just DON'T want to understand,
especially when they don't like the answer they were given.
I admire the mentors here for their extensive knowledge and
the fact that they take a lot of time to help here and still often get snapped at.
I wouldn't want to put myself through THAT.

OP5 months agoIf I had been able to reply to the mentioned post where it came up in our conversation, then I would of course have done that there too. Since that wasn't possible, I went the route of "Messages to Members." Unfortunately, until now I didn't know that this route is unusual or "forbidden." I have already apologized to you for that, and I am happy to apologize again here - and of course I will follow your request.
However, I do feel a bit "stepped on" right now. Maybe I'm also a bit oversensitive today: as I said, I already apologized to you via EBAY messages for contacting you personally. To now point this out publicly again in the community, I think - well - .... I don't want to say anything wrong now. As I said - I'm a bit thin-skinned today.
In addition, I would like to address the comments from "drosendorfer" regarding my post. I had already mentioned there that I find the mentors' responses to be of high quality.
In no way is this about me not liking a response from the mentors. Or have I misunderstood you and you don't even mean me.... ?
Regardless of that:
I asked my question because there was a very specific case to which I would have liked to reply: a questioner had already violated E-Bay principles regarding "prohibited items" twice - his items were correctly deleted twice. The questioner simply did not understand the mentors' answers....In this case, I would have liked to give an answer so that the questioner finally understands what he is allowed to list on EBAY and what not.. (I professionally had a lot to do with recipient-oriented communication ... that leaves its mark )
Kind regards
drosendorfer

or did not want to understand them !
if Ebay doesn’t allow something ,or deletes it ,then that’s how it is . End of story !!
And whether the original poster understood that now or accepts it
we’ll never know .
Some users here really ask for advice and then get good tips .
Others just want to complain here about the evil Ebay and would always like to be right .
Don’t take everything here so personally yourself , hang “your tie” a bit higher ,
then nobody will step on it .😀
have a nice Sunday .
