Bought on eBay, then delivered by Amazon
I bought an item here from a commercial seller ( item number: 157627196781 ), but it was then delivered by amazon. So my data was passed on to another company without my consent. Is that now standard practice?

Yes, definitely.
There are merchants who use Amazon's shipping solution, warehousing and fast delivery.
DHL, Hermes & Co would have gotten your data too.

·3 weeks agoAmazon is not explicitly mentioned, but it says in the terms and conditions:
"Data processing for order fulfillment
To fulfill our contractual obligations, we work with external partners:
Logistics and shipping/fulfillment: For the storage, packaging, and shipping of your goods, we pass on only your name and shipping address to logistics and fulfillment service providers. This is absolutely necessary to fulfill the purchase contract (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR). Your data will not be passed on to these partners for advertising purposes."

·3 weeks agoYou don't know whether the seller has passed your data on to Amazon. Many sellers on eBay use Amazon's shipping service. And if they are commercial sellers, they have to indicate in their terms and conditions to what extent data is passed on. For shipping, passing it on is absolutely necessary and is surely stated in the terms and conditions.
