Case opened, as no delivery was received
Summary: stahlhelm1941 opened a discussion about not receiving a delivery, which prompted responses from perfect-sally and bootyooty. The conversation continued with several exchanges between these participants, but no specific details were mentioned in the provided content snippets.
I recently ordered spray paint for my car via eBay. Unfortunately, the seller (commercial) took forever to ship it, so I had to open a case. Since I urgently needed the paint, I ordered it elsewhere in the meantime. Now the paint (eBay) was delivered after all. When unpacking it, I had to find that the spray nozzle had fallen off and the lid has a crack. How can I handle this sensibly now? If I close the case, as far as I know I can't open a new one for a damaged item.
I would be very happy about helpful replies.

·2 months agoHey @stahlhelm1941 the item has arrived, so you have to close the case for non-receipt as well.
Then you open a return (within the 30-day period - otherwise it won't work) and select "Item not as described", upload a photo right away.

·2 months ago@stahlhelm1941 normally the seller is responsible for return shipping if an item differs from the description. Ergo, he should also send you a return label; I would never send something back uninsured, otherwise there will be no refund if you don't have proof of delivery.
Get back here if something doesn't work out.

·2 months agoIf you have opened a complaint, the seller pays the return shipping and has to provide a label; if you have withdrawn from the purchase, you pay.

·2 months agoSo if the spray nozzle falls off and only the lid has a crack, it would actually be quite unreasonable to file a complaint about that, since you could still use the paint, right? Or is the lid so important to you that it should be without any damage?
A really sensible and satisfactory solution for both sides would be if the seller offered you a discount, but that’s up to them. And honestly, because of a fallen-off spray nozzle and a damaged lid, I’d be thinking my own thoughts as the seller.
You can close the request for an item not received and then open a return as long as you’re still within the return period and buyer protection, if you actually need the buyer protection.
