unfortunately I can no longer place a bid. The “Buy it now” option no longer works either. I keep getting an error message.

“Unfortunately, this item is not available at your location.{e289773-1260494x}”

I found a discussion about the same problem in this forum. But it doesn’t say whether the problem was solved or what caused it.

The automated eBay help doesn’t know the error message and suggests choosing one of the last purchases.

I used “Buy it now” and paid right afterward via PayPal. The purchase was later canceled by the seller. He apparently sold it to someone else with the price suggestion. The amount paid was refunded after the cancellation. I guess I should wait a bit before paying in the future. If I can buy anything through eBay at all. Right now it doesn’t look like it.

Is there a way to contact eBay technical support directly?

I read through the email. As long as it stays at one category and hopefully no further unexpected restrictions come up in the future, that’s okay with me. 🙂

To anyone who has a similar problem: the error occurs with a certain product category.

In my case, according to eBay Support, it’s used graphics cards. So the only thing left is to wait for a possible solution in the future or switch to another trading platform.

That’s just my amateur guess. There is an eBay user account worldwide with a similar name that has attracted negative attention. It was probably then restricted by the programmed logic of the eBay system. Just like my user account. The IT department may have determined that the effort involved is currently far too great to fix the error. 😛

Nevertheless, many heartfelt thanks to the community and eBay Support for the help!

Really strange. The problem seems to exist with private offers. I bought something today from a commercial seller. On all the private ones I tried, whether with "Bidding" or "Buy It Now", the mentioned error message still appears.

Just out of curiosity, if someone happens to be reading along. I’d like to know what is shown for others under eBay account/delivery address. Even if I edit the address and select Germany, after confirming it always says Germany for me. Is that normal?

The problem has existed forever. It’s due to "Nvidia" or "GeForce". The problem also occurs with manufacturer "Siemens". This morning I was able to buy Siemens items; this evening I’m getting the same error message. It’s been like this for months, but nobody is able to find the bug or provide a solution🙄

As described, for no listing can you use either "bid" or "buy it now". No matter whether on a PC or via the eBay app on the smartphone. Always the same error message, and that with several listings from Germany that I tried.

That already sounds very strange if nothing is working anywhere.

Could it be that you have at least 2 non-payer entries in the account or caused several abandoned purchases recently?

Hello, no. Everything always paid immediately as far as possible. Thanks to PayPal.

So far I’ve only had one purchase canceled by the seller, see above. And no canceled sale.
