Hello! Haven’t received the goods! Seller is not responding to messages! Ebay says you are NO LONGER covered by buyer protection! How am I supposed to understand that?

So, I think the OP missed the deadlines and therefore could not
get buyer protection. He did not allow the seller 3 days
to reply and sort things out.
Now the lovely @mia@ebay has taken care of it.
I can only hope that this thread will be closed soon.
As already mentioned here, I can only recommend to the OP
to seriously work on his communication.

Doesn't really make sense. If it doesn't work for some reason, then the eBay employees can actually do that and ask beforehand whether they can help you like that.

·1 month agoWhat I still don't understand about this thing is that apparently it has no effect,
that the OP got his money back....at least that's what he claimed...why is it possible,
to open a buyer protection case for an item that you ultimately didn't even pay for...maybe the events just overlapped and eBay and PayPal are not on the same page...🤔

I had exactly that thought in mind too, which is why I asked the OP about the measures taken so far, or rather their implementation and possibly the result.
Usually, the development of a topic/problem runs through replies and comments like a red thread through a discussion, so that in the end you can understand the correct course of action.
Here, everything is quite confusing, I think.
The OP seems to have disappeared completely.
What keeps me wondering is: what impact it has on the seller.
Money and goods gone?
Case decided in their favor?
Uncomplicated cancellation of the purchase contract?
(I know not every measure may be made public here)

·1 month agoIt is, with all due respect, difficult to determine the cause of your problem, with the sparse info in your opening post, from the email from Ebay: "You are no longer covered by buyer protection" , .
The information missing was about:
-item number
-date of purchase
-stated shipping / delivery time
-Is there a tracking number,.....
These are all key details needed in order to effectively trace the course of the transaction. Since you worded your question so unspecifically, the answers from the thread participants can only be speculative.
After all, everyone here is just a user trying to help each other.

I see that you have opened a buyer protection case. Your seller now has until 05/06/26 to clarify the delivery. We do not yet have a tracking number for this shipment. If by then you have not received the delivery or could not reach an agreement with the seller, you can contact eBay.

according to the message from dear Mia, you were given the option to open a buyer protection case starting on 1.6.
It would already be helpful to know why you were shown that you were not covered by buyer protection / were not covered. (according to your original topic)
Was it due to the waiting periods?
How did you ultimately deal with the situation?
Did you open a case?
Or has the item arrived with you in the meantime?
Did you follow through on your announcements: reporting it to the police and the tax office?

The core of the thread is the misunderstanding: "no more buyer protection - why?"
The misunderstanding of @tolls-king-2018 grows over the course of the discussion into understanding the importance of information about details of how the transaction went. That makes the whole thing even more complicated.
The original poster expects a generally valid reason that can be read in eBay's guidelines, although the original poster is apparently not willing to check his special "case" against that.
That his own actions may have triggered this notice is something he does not consider.
(I conclude this from the tone of the replies / reactions)
As forcefully as an explanation / solution was demanded, one could also provide a comprehensible explanation of one's actual own procedure / handling.

Addition/aside from me:
The thread was started yesterday at noon (Saturday).
It could also be that the seller isn't at the computer on the weekend.
There are also people who aren't at the computer 24 hours a day/7 days a week
and, above all, do other things on the weekend.
Possibly the seller won't respond until tomorrow. Just wait and see.
I'll spare myself any comment on the rest.

the tax office does not provide buyer protection for you, only Ebay does that. But do what you want. Have fun.

Even if someone offers something privately here, that doesn’t mean they aren’t properly paying their taxes on the sales through a
business.
And the tax office doesn’t care about questions of competition law.
Still, I would have liked to figure out with you why there is no buyer protection.
The reasons or the why would certainly be of interest to many buyers.

OP1 month agoThe purchase was on 23.05.2026! But that doesn't matter now anyway! I had my money transferred back! Criminal complaint will follow and report to the tax office on Monday

Because if you do that, you trigger a payment dispute on EBay.
That then prevents you from also opening a buyer protection case on EBay.

If you don't receive the item and the seller can't provide a tracking number, you'll get your money back through eBay if you also paid through eBay and it's an item covered by buyer protection.
But of course it wouldn't be good if buyers then demanded the refund through eBay and also still from the payment provider.
Otherwise, a dispute and a buyer protection case would have to be handled for the same purchase.
That wouldn't make sense, would it.

The shipment is supposedly sent as a letter.
If purchased today, the item would supposedly arrive on June 2 or 3.
If purchased on 25/05, then the latest delivery date would likely have been today, 30/05.

Maybe because of Whit Monday, but maybe not until June 1?
You can only report that something has not arrived once the latest delivery date has passed.
That's why the other users asked about the latest delivery date.
However, I don't see any sale of this item on May 25 in the sold items.
A notification that you no longer have buyer protection cannot be the case if the purchase was made on May 25.
In Google search, the shop is classified by the AI as commercial. I find that justified and noteworthy.

if you have a problem and are looking for help, you should also read the posts carefully.
In post 3 you were asked about the date of purchase and the latest delivery date.
It may well be that the time for buyer protection has expired if you waited too long.

·1 month agoAnd what is the latest delivery date? Purchased on the 25th, today is the 30th, and depending on the stated processing time, you may not have received the item yet at all.
