Cancel purchase
I bought an item on Sunday and later found it cheaper, so I tapped back on purchase. I was told to wait for a response from the seller, but there’s no sign of one. My question now is whether I can get my money back or whether that’s out of the question.

an order cancellation is only possible under certain conditions.
If you bought from a private seller, then it is entirely up to the PVK whether he responds to your cancellation request or not.
"Getting your money back", no, why?
"Found it cheaper" is definitely not a valid reason to cancel a valid purchase contract. As the buyer, you also have a duty of care:
By making the purchase, you actively indicated that you were fully and consciously accepting the conditions of the item offered.
The seller is not responsible for your hasty purchase action and poor research.
Even if you don't like hearing this, you have entered into a legally binding contract and are obliged to fulfill your part.
The seller does not have to reply to you or even agree to the cancellation; he can even enforce performance legally.
He is only obliged, upon request from Ebay: "Paid, now ship", to send the item to the shipping address you provided.
I feel sorry for commercial sellers, because they are forced to accept every flimsy reason for an order cancellation or cancellation of an order.
My advice to you: reconsider your buying behavior, that avoids unnecessary problems.
All the best
