If I have an item on my watchlist, I often get a price suggestion. That’s fine. I don’t always have buying interest, but such a price suggestion doesn’t bother me either.
However, it has also happened a few times that I receive price suggestions when I merely click on an offer and take a quick look at it. I don’t want such price suggestions, and they bother me.
Is that an additional feature that the seller can activate?
Can I, as a buyer, make any settings so that I no longer receive such price suggestions?

For "simple" searches I often turn on Private Mode. It’s really kind of ridiculous, but it seems to help.
But one limitation: recently, the sold items/sale prices are no longer accessible incognito, only with login. At least here. Too bad, but still. eBay is basically a sales platform, not a window display for browsing on a Sunday.

To sum it up briefly, it's about the fact that with some sellers, the listings - accidentally, on purpose, or because of a technical defect - are listed multiple times, even though the item only exists once. One consequence of this is that when I click on such listings for the same item, I get multiple and nonsensical price suggestions.
I would like the causes for this to be checked and fixed.

At the moment, this seller from above has listed 47656 items, of which an estimated two thirds don't even exist. He is very present with his listings. The prices for the old toys he offers are often overpriced and are therefore probably hardly ever bought.
If the dark teddy bear from above were in better condition and cheaper, I might buy it. Just out of curiosity and to see what then happens to the other two listings for this teddy bear. 😉

·1 week ago · Editedwell, Ebay or even individual sellers will have tinkered a long time to make sure these price suggestions are constantly being spread “proactively” to the masses. ;-)
Sometimes multiple times too, this has already come up here quite a few times.
Unsubscribing doesn’t work. But not receiving them anymore works via the workaround of private mode, at least for everything not saved as watched. No caches, no cookies, no price suggestions. Just saying …

The problem with these repeatedly appearing sales listings is also that it violates eBay policy if sellers do this intentionally. Or that listings are posted multiple times even though the sellers don't want that at all.

My answer that I need to change my clicking behavior was a joke. I can hardly avoid clicking on these listings that are posted multiple times. With the ads, I often don't initially see which seller it is either. These listings are very prominent in search, as they are listed in two categories and are also advertised.
The item in question exists only once in each case, but is listed multiple times at very different Buy It Now prices. This is a violation of eBay policy, provided it is done intentionally.

As a buyer, I have no way to prevent these unwanted and multiple price offers. I feel harassed by them. I can't simply delete these price offers. I first have to check and reject them before deleting them, and then I receive one or more price offers for the same item again. It is a commercial seller who apparently offers exclusively old and antique items, which therefore only exist once each, but appear three times. He advertises these Buy It Now offers with offers. At the moment, 47656 listings have been posted by him. But probably only about a third of them actually exist. He marks the multiple listings with an additional -d and a -x in the title.
At present, I have received three different price offers for the darker teddy bear from him:
99810240-d Old cute teddy bear plush toy stuffed animal L43cm (EUR 59.20 - 20% = EUR 47.36)
99810240 Old cute teddy bear plush toy stuffed animal L43cm (EUR 74.00 - 20 % = EUR 59.20)
99810240-x Old cute teddy bear plush toy stuffed animal L43cm (EUR 49.00 - 5 % = EUR 46.55)
These Buy It Now prices, which vary so widely, and the multiple price offers for an item that exists only once are nonsensical and certainly not what the seller intended. First I get a price offer of 47.36 euros. I reject it, delete it, and then I simultaneously get two further price offers for 59.20 euros and 46.55 euros. I consider such price offers spam.
I want the causes for this to be investigated and fixed. Sellers who deliberately list their offers multiple times gain an advantage over sellers who do not. If such a multiple listing of an item that exists only once is bought and paid for by two different buyers, that is likely to become problematic as well.
I can't imagine that this is something eBay wants or intends.

You can activate it by setting automatic PV as the seller. eBay decides who gets it and when
You can't turn it off.

That’s spam if Ebay clutters up my overview lists this way just because I clicked on an offer. I have to delete these unwanted price suggestions and it creates "work" for me. Especially when a seller has listed the same offer multiple times. Then I get several price suggestions for the same item at the same time.
Then I’ll probably have to change my "click behavior" on Ebay.

you'll have to do that then, because I hardly think Ebay will change the algorithm for that, since it was deliberately set up that way.

I already had to change my buying behavior on eBay, then my search behavior, now my rating behavior....so I guess I'll just change my clicking behavior too. 😉
