A return procedure cannot be opened because the shipment was late and there is already 1 procedure for the item. What now?
Summary: onkelerwin reports difficulties with a seller on a platform after an item was shipped late and did not match the description. A first case was opened for the item, which has now been delivered. One participant explains that the first case must be closed before a return can be initiated, as long as the deadlines have not expired. onkelerwin expresses concern that closing the first case could affect the ability to open a new one, since the seller is not responding.
I bought an item that then wasn't shipped for a long time. I couldn't reach the seller, so I opened a case through eBay. The item was then shipped promptly. Unfortunately, the item that has now been delivered is not the one named in the title and item description. I can't open another case for the return. The seller didn't respond to my suggestion that it could simply be handled by sending a label (he could trigger the process, after all).

·1 week agoThat’s not right! If you opened a claim because of an item not received and the item then arrived, that claim has to be closed.
Only then can you open a return, and only if the return window or buyer protection has not already expired.

OP1 week agoIs that really the case? I’m worried that after the first case is closed, I won’t be able to open a new one, and then I’d have a problem since the seller still isn’t getting back to me.

·1 week agoThose are 2 completely different procedures! One is an inquiry because the item was not delivered and the other is a complaint. The first one has to be closed because otherwise the item is considered not delivered for eBay. And if it’s not delivered, nothing can be returned.
