How long are you waiting?
Summary: hoffigr has been waiting for 11 days for an item that was purchased on August 1. According to the description, shipping should have taken place within 1-2 days, but since 07/08 there has been no further movement of the shipment at SwissPost. Despite the apparently delayed shipping and the seller’s lack of communication, who is still actively selling, the item is not urgent for them. They are asking about other people’s experiences with when they become impatient or annoyed.
How long do you wait for an item after buying it, and when do you start getting impatient or even annoyed?
I bought something on August 1. On 06/08, I asked about shipping, no reaction or reply from the seller. On 07/08, the item got a tracking number at SwissPost. Since then, nothing has happened with that number, no drop-off or movement.
According to the item description, shipping is supposed to be fast, within 1-2 days, so that obviously didn’t work out. Today it’s been 11 days. I don’t really know how the Swiss post works, maybe they sometimes forget to scan something too. And the item is for my collection, so nothing I urgently need.
But the fact is, the seller keeps listing new, different items and is also busily selling every day. It’s a private seller, that seems to be judged somehow differently in Switzerland with over 1,000 items online.
So at what point do you react, and how?

·1 month agoThe approximate delivery time is given with the item anyway. I usually add 2-3 more days, keep an eye on the tracking, and if nothing happens there, I first contact the seller.
If nothing comes of that, I report an item not received. In your case, I probably would have reacted much earlier if absolutely nothing was moving.
And yes, in Switzerland it works a bit differently for private and commercial sellers.
