Change the shipping method as a seller due to exceeding the weight limit after purchase has been paid for.
Hello,
Here’s the situation:
Offering goods, including the selected shipping method DHL.
Buyer buys and pays, including shipping method DHL.
Weight exceeds the 10kg limit by a tiny amount.
Can no longer adjust the shipping method.
How do I proceed to move forward here?
Best regards
F. David

Thanks for that.
The item had about 300 grams of excess weight in a 10kg package, due to the packaging material. I then sent the package via Hermes and entered the tracking number. Of course, the extra costs are on me.

Mentor2 weeks agoAs I said, that can also get you a bad rating or possibly a defect on your account because the details were deviated from.

Mentor2 weeks agoSure @willithepooh don't worry about it, that happened to me too during my sales time, I then also had to chip in, but you learn from mistakes really quickly.
Have fun on eBay.

Mentor2 weeks agoHello @willithepooh ,
you always have to add the packaging material on top.
That has happened to me too, that I made a mistake.
That was then my bad luck.
Let the buyer know that you have changed the shipping service provider.

Mentor2 weeks agoYou have to deal with that yourself and bear the additional costs. You can’t pass those on to the buyer and change the shipping method. I wouldn’t recommend switching to another provider, that could also get you a negative or neutral review.

Mentor2 weeks agoHello @willithepooh you pay out of pocket and ship it.
You upload the tracking number to eBay.
The buyer can only pay what is shown to them in the checkout process and no more.
Since unfortunately you didn't measure/weigh it exactly before the sale, you'll be stuck with the additional costs too.
