Arrived goods supposedly not present
Summary: robkoppe0 reported a problem with a buyer from Romania who claims not to have received two watches. Despite proof of delivery, the buyer says the box was empty. perfect-sally advises against making international sales as a private individual and suggests that an eBay employee review the situation. samantha@ebay informs that the case was opened through eBay US and that customer service there needs to be involved. It is not clear how the case will proceed, since different policies apply.
Hello, I have a huge problem. A buyer from Romania first bought a watch from me and then immediately another completely different one. I didn't think anything of it at first. Then I bought the shipping label through eBay. Then there was a problem with the delivery; the details he had stored with eBay were incorrect and he wanted to blame me for it. And he started a return, which I did not accept because the package was supposed to be delivered again the next day. That was indeed the case; the package was delivered, and the following day he wrote that the box had been opened and the number would be wrong, that I had done everything wrong and that there would be no goods in the box. I asked him to go back to the post office right away and have it documented; he said he would do everything, but he didn't do anything and wants his money back. In my opinion, none of this is true at all because I shipped both watches, and the whole thing seems so strange to me because he only said a day later that the box was empty, only filled with napkins, which I didn't put in there.

Mentor1 week agoHello @robkoppe0
The case was opened via eBay US and cannot be handled by us.
In both cases, starting tomorrow, customer service from eBay.com can be brought in.
Since every country has different policies, unfortunately I can't tell you in advance how things will continue.
Thanks for the tag @perfect-sally
Best regards
Samantha

Mentor1 week agoOh dear, ebay.com doesn’t bode well.
I hope it still turns out well for the seller 👍

OP1 week agoBut the parcel was clearly delivered though, I even have the proof of dispatch, etc. so I'm in the right, aren't I? Or am I seeing this wrong 🥲 since he also said he would report it to the post office and definitely didn't do that.

Mentor1 week agoThat now depends on what reason the buyer gives and whether he opens a return.
If he states that the item does not match the description, you have to take it back and also pay for the return shipping.
If he says that he didn’t receive anything, you’re safe for now because he has demonstrably received something.

OP1 week agoAt first he demanded a refund because it hadn’t arrived, and then said the item was not as described

Mentor1 week agoOh dear, we've been writing here for a long time that as a private seller you really shouldn't ship abroad if you don't want to lose your money and your goods.
It could be the case with you again.
Please name both item numbers and an eBay staff member will take a look and then get back here.
Hello @samantha@ebay would you be so kind? Many thanks
