Request to delete a review was rejected
Summary: tobileu reports that their request to delete a negative review was rejected. A buyer had claimed that an item was damaged by tape, even though photos show the opposite. According to the rejection letter, the item was not described correctly, which the buyer had not complained about. tobileu suspects that an AI made the decision and asks whether a manual review is possible. meinehexe11 thinks the review will probably stand, since the buyer has the right to rate their experience, and gives suggestions for packaging.
The request for deletion was rejected. A buyer left negative feedback claiming that an item was damaged by the use of adhesive tape, and he posted photos clearly showing that that can’t be true. The request to delete the review was rejected on the grounds that the item did not match the description. But the buyer never wrote that. The buyer probably never read the description and was therefore a bit disappointed (although at €7.50 the purchase was more than fine for him) I think it was some kind of revenge review because the buyer was too stupid to read the description. So my question is, I suspect eBay has some kind of AI that decided against deletion. It probably only checks whether there are insults or similar in it. Is there any way to get a real person at eBay to look at it, or is any effort I put into this wasted? Thanks :)

I think the rating will remain with you. The buyer had a bad buying experience and it’s up to him to pass that on in the rating as well.
The cards could also definitely have been packed differently. For example, wrapping them in paper or bubble wrap and then securing it with tape.

OP3 weeks agoWell, the cards are in protective sleeves, but oh well, a few thousand sales on mkm, always shipped like that, everything wonderful, then you sell on ebay again and it’s nothing but stress. These will be the last magickarten I sell on ebay. Negative buying experience, yeah right. The buyer was too dumb to read that many cards are in played condition, and then it’s the seller’s fault, he comes up with some flimsy excuse. Once again I’ve had a negative selling experience, maybe ebay should take that into account fairly too. Well, a member since 2002 and this is how you get treated.
