I unfortunately made a mistake when promoting an offer and I hope someone can help me from their own experience.
I wanted to set an ad rate of 9 % for my listing, but I accidentally entered 99 % instead of 9 %.
The item sold for 9,99 € and has already been shipped to the buyer. The buyer paid a total of 12,89 € including shipping. However, eBay charged me 15,18 € in ad fees. As a result, my order proceeds are -5,19 €.
This is clearly an input error. An ad rate of 99 % was never intended.
I have already contacted eBay in writing twice, explained the mistake, and asked for a goodwill credit or reimbursement. So far, unfortunately, I haven't received a response.
Since I currently can't talk on the phone because of a problem with my voice, I depend on a written way to contact eBay customer service.
Has anyone ever made a similar mistake, e.g. accidentally entered a much too high ad rate?
What is the best thing I can do now? Is there another written contact option or a specific department at eBay I can reach out to? And has anyone in a similar case gotten the ad fee refunded as a goodwill gesture?

great that you shared your post with us.
I understand that in this case you'd like a credit of the fees. I've just initiated your request for goodwill. The review takes about 21 days. If the request for a credit is approved, you'll automatically get the amount back after that time.
So you don't need to take care of anything else now. I've already arranged everything for you.
