Item is still on the way, but on eBay it’s already marked as "delivered"

Hello, yesterday evening I bought an item from a seller who is over 100 km away. This morning, E-bay said that the item had been delivered. Since E-bay doesn't have drone delivery, that is IMPOSSIBLE! Unfortunately, it has happened more often in the past that E-bay showed the info that items had been delivered, even though at the time of the false info they were still on the way. This is a system error that needs to be fixed urgently. Calls to E-bay only bring the info that I shouldn't worry (the item is insured) and that I can open a case. Unfortunately, the software is not being improved to stop such false information.

The basic shipment tracking used via the matrix code on standard postage stamps from Deutsche Post is limited. It does not show seamless door-to-door tracking. Only the machine scans at the origin and destination mail centers are recorded, not the exact delivery time or the letter being dropped into the mailbox.
Your shipment was processed yesterday in a logistics center and should go out for delivery today during the course of the day.

Mentor1 week agoI've activated the postal notification from the post office - when I get the email after it's scanned at the destination mail center, it always says it will be delivered "in the next few days"
with a bit of luck it can still be delivered the same day (the email always comes after 0:00), but it also isn't uncommon for it to take 2-3 days longer - the "delivered" status is simply misleading and even I was more than once initially puzzled that I was supposed to have received something that hadn't happened

Mentor1 week agoThis doesn’t necessarily have to be due to eBay, but could also be due to the interface to the shipping service provider.
