Item supposedly arrived damaged with the buyer - but was sent in perfect condition

I shipped an item - a monitor - in PERFECT condition and in flawless condition, and it was also properly packaged. According to the shipping service provider, there is no damage whatsoever to the packaging. But the buyer is reporting that the item - a monitor - is broken - the front glass is supposedly completely destroyed. But that is not possible at all, since it was in its original packaging and the package also arrived undamaged to the buyer.
The customer has opened a case and now, according to buyer protection, I am supposed to take back the broken device. How can that be? Shipped completely OK and undamaged. The box also arrived completely undamaged but supposedly with a destroyed front pane, which is not possible at all. Is it normal that this falls under buyer protection? Shipping service provider is not liable because the box is undamaged and now I, as the seller, am supposed to be the fool?

without meaning to offend you, it’s always possible that a seller overlooks a barely visible defect on the item, e.g. a tiny hairline crack in the display. Something similar has happened to me too
If the seller overlooks this, the shocks during transport can cause the damage to get worse and the display to arrive at the customer destroyed. Even with the original packaging.
The monitor surely has a serial number that you documented. You can compare this with the returned monitor. Then you’ll immediately see whether it’s the device you sent.

OP2 months agoit is therefore not possible because it is an original Apple packaging and the monitor cannot be packed any more securely. This damage that is said to have occurred cannot possibly happen while it is packaged.

Mentor2 months agoYou simply didn’t package it well enough if the box was undamaged on the outside.
And why shouldn’t that be possible? You can see for yourself that it is possible.
If you don’t respond, eBay will refund it for you, collect the money from you, and you’ll get a defect on your account.
