I don’t know what to do anymore 😞
So, here’s the situation:
It’s been almost a month since I won something here on eBay from a private seller. I paid right away and transferred the money immediately. Shortly after, I got a message from the seller saying that I should make the payment via PayPal, I wrote back that I don’t have a PayPal account and then I did a chargeback.
So then, at some point he wrote to me saying that I could send the amount to his account via instant bank transfer, which I then did as well. We initially agreed, in his words: "...if not today I’ll send it tomorrow...'
I’m still waiting for my item...
When I asked whether he has a tracking number for me, he wrote: "...looking for receipt..."
Since then I haven’t heard back from him anymore and it’s already been 2 weeks.
I can’t report it or open a case either because I did the chargeback and sent it to him by bank transfer...I really don’t know what I’m supposed to do there...apparently buyer protection doesn’t work if you’ve made a bank transfer, someone told me...I’m really at a loss 😪😕😢
Maybe you have some idea or a tip for what I could do...

Here you only have the option of getting legal assistance. Of course you can also report the seller, so that he is properly instructed in the future.

That isn't allowed either.
And exactly, there is also no buyer protection for such transfers directly to the seller.
Could you please share the item number?
It can't be that you first make a "direct transfer" to the seller, the seller asks for PP and then you transfer again.
I suspect you didn't buy here on eBay, but on another sales platform?

OP1 week agoBut I won it here on eBay from a private seller! I also took screenshots of the conversation/messages!
I find that really annoying because something like this has never happened to me here before. And then a few days ago I discovered that the seller had relisted the item. No idea if this is some kind of scam... I just hope they don't want to pull the same trick on other buyers...

well, what can you say. You didn’t act in an eBay-compliant way. The payment goes through eBay and not by bank transfer directly to the seller. That’s not allowed, as was already explained to you here. Since we still don’t have an item number, we also can’t have an eBay employee take a look at it.
