Article search with suppression of certain providers?
Summary: dagko21 asks about a way to exclude certain sellers from eBay search after noticing that many item pages from one seller are being shown. petersmodellbahnstuebchen and bootyooty offer solutions via the advanced search, explaining that the exclusion has to be entered again for each new search. dagko21 remembers an earlier method for permanently excluding via a search string and laments that the previous advice can’t be applied. petersmodellbahnstuebchen explains that the advanced search does not offer a way to permanently exclude sellers, but tries to provide solutions within the advanced features.
Hello + good day
I need help
When I enter my search string
several (soon 30) pages with items are offered by one seller, which I would like to suppress.
There is a way to enter this seller in the search line and thus no longer have them displayed.
What do I need to enter and where?
Thanks in advance

Mentor1 month agoHey @dagko21
You can include or exclude one or more users in the advanced search.
Kind regards from the Baltic Sea

I'll take a look at this and then get back to you again

Mentor1 month agoHey @dagko21 a permanent exclusion is not possible.
With every new search you enter, you have to exclude the sellers by name again.

OP1 month agoHello everyone
That may all be true... Only about a few years ago I once got a tip on how that would be possible. I just messed it up and after a computer crash everything was gone. I had to somehow and somewhere insert the provider into my string. After calling up this string, I saved it and then only entered it for my EBAY search - done.
With the advanced search, the lottery slip is too cumbersome for me to test what works where and what doesn't. Apparently only with companies and not with private providers.
So I'll just skip those pages for the sake of simplicity - as always...
Still, thanks for the help + and have a nice weekend

Mentor1 month agoHey @dagko21 back then there were lots of useful links, e.g. for review profiles, on how to find out the country of registration. By now, none of them are around anymore, or else they don’t work at all anymore.

Mentor1 month ago · EditedHey @dagko21
sorry, if the "lottery ticket" is too cumbersome for you to test, then unfortunately I can't help you any further.
I myself get on just fine with my searches saved there.
Also, have a nice weekend

OP1 month agoSorry, here I am again
Can at least my observation ".... Apparently only for companies and not for private providers" be confirmed?
If that's the case, then it's a done deal anyway.
Have a nice day, dagko21

Mentor1 month agoHello @dagko21
no, your statement cannot be confirmed. In the advanced search, you can choose yourself whether only private, commercial, or all offers are shown.

OP1 month agoYes, I think by now that nobody has really grasped my problem yet.
In the advanced search I can’t find any way to exclude one or more providers from the search. Nothing else. With the string mentioned above, the search is 90% perfectly sufficient for me - for the missing 10% =
excluding a provider I need your help.
Try out my string and remove a provider.
that was my request
Have a nice day
