Automatic sanctions for delayed shipment?
Summary: pasric_8129 purchased an item and the seller requested a cancellation due to shipping delays, fearing sanctions from eBay. Although the buyer doesn't mind the delay, they are concerned about securing the same price in a future purchase. They seek advice on whether any sanctions can be avoided if they are willing to wait for the shipment.
Hey!
I bought an article that's on the way to the seller. They claim there are some delays because of which they won't be able to send the article in the timeframe mentioned in the description. Now they would like me to cancel the order so they can offer it later on at the same price because they fear to be getting some form of sanction by eBay for not confirming shipment in time.
Now here is my issue with that: I do not mind the delay (they claim about 1 week) at all, but I am suspicious whether I will receive it at the same price as this was an accepted offer I made on a pricey item.
Is there some way to avoid any automated sanctions / are there even any if I as the seller am fine with it and don't file a complaint?
Thanks a lot in advance!

Mentor3 weeks agoYou can’t prevent the seller from being sanctioned. If he doesn’t ship as stated, the system records it and there’s the defect. The seller should have reacted in time himself and not afterward. Even a cancellation now won’t change the late shipment. I wouldn’t agree to that either, but would insist on delivery, especially at that price.
