Basic Shop subscription cannot be booked – "no payment method on file", even though SEPA direct debit is set up

The exchange led to the seller account being set up successfully.
Hello everyone,
I have an existing business eBay account and would like to start selling actively for the first time. So far I have not used the account for buying.
I was able to successfully save my SEPA direct debit mandate. However, when I try to book the Basic Shop subscription, I get the message that no payment method is on file.
When I asked support, they said my bank account was "not direct-debit capable". I can't really understand that, since several other SEPA direct debits have already been processed through the same account without any problems — so it's not the bank or the account itself.
My question: Is it possible that my account is recognized as a business account, but not yet as a fully-fledged seller account, and that's why the payment method for the shop subscription isn't accepted? If so: how do I specifically enable my existing business account as a seller account? Do I first need to create an offer or complete an initial sale, or is there a separate activation step that I've missed?
I would be very grateful for any tips from the community on how I can solve the problem in a targeted way.

thank you very much for your great help. In the meantime, the verification to become an Ebay seller worked out.
I have one quick question:
We would like to take out a Basic Shop subscription to build a web shop. But the question is, do I first create all the items (health shoes) as drafts and then integrate them into the shop? Or do I first create the shop and then the items directly in the shop.
Can you give an item different attributes in the shop, such as color and size - or do I have to create the item multiple times.

Mentor2 weeks agoVerena is not here today, but book the shop first before you upload items!
Of course, you can also create drafts first before uploading.
And a shop has nothing to do with it if you want to create items with multiple variants; that would work without a shop too.

To convert your eBay account into a seller account, you actually first need to list an item and, as part of that, also provide your payment details and verify your information.
