Basic eBay shop with the items
Summary: headseaker wants to open a basic shop and asks how the monthly quota of free items works, especially whether unused items can be carried over to the next month. perfect-sally explains that 400 items can be listed each month, but unused items are not carried over. perfect-sally also points out the missing legal information in headseaker’s shop, such as the right of withdrawal and privacy policies. Another participant, voli-maus, advises headseaker to learn about the obligations of commercial sellers and mentions that shipping with tracking must be offered. headseaker replies that tracking is in place because he buys shipping labels through eBay.
Hello folks,
I’d like to open a basic shop, but the AI doesn’t understand me.
I’m allowed to list 400 items for free each month at a fixed price. I sell, say, 100 items. So then there would be 300 left. Can I then additionally list another 400 items for free in the coming month, which would make 700 items, or does it get counted back up to a max of 400, so that in the following month I can only list 100 items so that it’s back to 400
I’d be grateful for some help because a max of 400 items is too little in the long run and the other shops are too expensive
Best, Stefan

Mentor3 weeks agoHello @headseaker ,
first do your "homework" as a commercial seller.
You don't have any withdrawal policy as a commercial seller.
Read up on it
Everything about eBay Shops | eBay
And I could shop with you "for free," since you don't offer/declare tracked shipping.

OP3 weeks agoI always have tracking because I always buy my shipping labels on eBay and then the tracking number appears automatically

Mentor3 weeks ago400 articles per month at a fixed price. If you don't use them up, the rest are gone and the next month another 400 come in. Nothing gets carried over.
And what about your legally required business details?
No returns accepted? As a business seller, that just doesn't fly!
No right of withdrawal
No sample withdrawal form
Your note about small business regulation doesn't belong in the terms and conditions field but has to be immediately visible!
No terms and conditions provided
Privacy policy is also missing
That makes you highly vulnerable to cease-and-desist claims.

OP3 weeks agoThat means I could have more than 400 items in the shop in the following month.

Mentor3 weeks agoYou can have as many items in the shop as you want, but for the over 400 you have to pay listing fees.

OP3 weeks agoFirst of all, many thanks
Sample cancellation form and return. I'll do some checking first
