Ordered on eBay, delivered by Amazon....
Why does Ebay allow overpriced goods to be offered by merchants, who then have them delivered via Amazon? This practice is becoming more and more common!

Mentor3 days agoI'd put it like this - according to hearsay (or skimming through dealer forums too), shipping via Amazon is more advantageous for buyers when it comes to complaints ...
... and whether the prices here or somewhere else on the www are cheaper, you generally check that before buying

OP3 days agoAnd now it’s happened again: ordered on Ebay and got the package from Amazon. And no, this was not pointed out in the listing, and yes, it definitely is from Amazon, because if I wanted to send the item back now, I’d have to send it directly to "Amazon-Retourezentrum". (https://www.ebay.de/itm/388993156107)
Ebay is absolutely no fun anymore like this, so I’ll probably reluctantly set up an account directly with Amazon after all; that will definitely be cheaper.
Too bad, but that’s the only way Ebay can lose. I’ll definitely draw my own conclusions from this now.

Mentor3 days agoAlso, I just can't understand why you’d buy articles like that from a seller based in Spain, of all places.
I go to the hardware store, look at the item in person, and put a few € more on the table, and I don't have any such problems. And if any complaint comes up, then I go to the same hardware store and make my complaint right there on the spot, also without any problems!

OP3 days ago · EditedI would do it that way too, except the nearest hardware store is more than 20 km away and if you factor in the travel costs and the value of your time, the item ends up being much more expensive.
As for "seller is based in Spain," all well and good, but with no indication whatsoever that the goods then come from Amazon, that is legally highly questionable.
But as I already wrote, I will draw my own conclusions from this.
Oh, how nice Ebay was just a few years ago.....

Mentor3 days agoAgain: many sellers don’t enter the shipping provider, and it’s not mandatory either, because there is the option “other” for sellers after all.

Mentor3 days agoSome years ago there was A.... too, and even back then quite a few VKs unfortunately handled it that way. It just maybe didn’t stand out as much, or the buyers weren’t paying that much attention.

Mentor3 days agoYour seller is based in Spain, and Berlin is listed as the item location.
Nowhere does it say that it will be shipped via DHL or anything similar.
Under shipping it says "free" and other.
The AB also explicitly says "We ship all items directly from our supplier within 1-2 business days. "
Many sellers sell across multiple platforms and then ship accordingly, I honestly don't see what the problem is?

And if it was delivered via the platform mentioned, that could be because many sellers who sell on eBay and other platforms use that platform's shipping solution.

OP3 weeks agoAs a counter-question: There are still said to be people who do not like/support Amazon. Personal preference?!?
If you still end up getting the goods through Amazon, this "freedom of choice" is simply bypassed. Then it should also be clearly shown in the listing on Ebay!
But that is mostly not the case!

Mentor3 weeks agoIf the seller really only has to use A's shipping solution, they don't have to mention that in the listing.
And if it's a commercial seller, they have to have terms and conditions where it is stated how buyer data is used, and without the customer's consent contract fulfillment isn't possible... or something like that. In the end, that means the buyer is also agreeing to the passing on of their data.
I'm not a fan of A either, but as I said, they offer a shipping solution and a storage system so that the seller wouldn't have to store their goods at home.
