Dear community, I sold an item (item no. 177613591468) and bought the shipping label through the eBay system: 4.89 euros. For inexplicable reasons, Hermes did not deliver shipment no. 02335103000380 to the recipient, but instead it came back to me, the sender. The recipient was at home the whole time and also has a leave-at-door agreement with Hermes. The recipient address was correct.To avoid trouble with the buyer (he immediately left me a negative rating, which has since been withdrawn), I sent the package again as quickly as possible at extra cost via DHL for €6.19. That then also arrived without any problems at the same address. On 08/12/25 I filed a complaint with Hermes and requested a refund, either back to the payment method on eBay or via PayPal. On 10/12/25 all I got back was a standard email saying “that should not have happened,” in which they said they would offer me a voucher if I provided my address. I replied immediately that I do not need a voucher because I have no further shipments, but would like a refund for the service not provided. Unfortunately, nothing has happened since then. If I had bought the shipping label directly from Hermes and paid with PayPal, I could get help there. Here I don't see a way—who on eBay takes care of it when the parcel service providers do not provide their service, so that you get your money back? I would be happy if I could at least get the Hermes costs back out of the more than 11 euros in shipping costs I have now paid. Not to mention all the stress and hassle with the buyer, who of course blamed me for it... Thank you for your help!fiveoaks2003
