Complaint about returning goods
Summary: anako-52 needs help with a return request because the buyer claims the stereo system doesn’t work and the remote control is damaged, even though it was intact when shipped. petersmodellbahnstuebchen recommends sending the buyer a return label and sorting the matter out with eBay later, since it’s difficult to determine who is in the right.
Hello, I need help with a return request.
The buyer claims that the stereo system doesn't work. When I had the item, it worked.
The buyer also sent a photo of the remote control, showing that the remote control is damaged. When it was with me, the remote control was not damaged. I therefore can't understand when or how the damage occurred.
I would like to clarify the case with eBay before I agree to a refund. Please review the situation and let me know what options I have as the seller.

Thank you for your help.

Mentor1 week agoEven if everything was supposedly undamaged and working on your end, who says it was still like that when it arrived at the buyer's place? And packing the item safely and in a way that complies with the shipping service's requirements is very labor-intensive, and many sellers fail at that.
Ebay will decide in the buyer's favor if you dig your heels in and refund them. On top of that, you'll get a defect on your account. The rating itself also says quite a lot.

the buyer claims one thing, you claim something else. So who is right, and how is Ebay supposed to decide?
If you don't send the buyer a return label within the deadline, Ebay will refund the buyer the purchase price incl. shipping costs.
You should send the buyer a return label and sort out any issues with Ebay afterwards.
However, it's difficult for Ebay to decide who is actually right,
