Scam by the buyer

Hello, I have the following problem. On April 19, I sold a pipe collection via Ebay that was supposed to be sent to a company called Euro express gmbh in Wuppertal, which I did immediately. On May 6, Ebay notified me that the buyer had filed a return request, claiming that there was no pipe collection in the delivered package, but rather a pink stuffed teddy bear. Along with that, an alleged proof photo. It took me less than 5 minutes to find the same case in the Ebay community:
Ebay did uncover the fraud and refunded the seller, but the buyer is obviously continuing the scam under another name, among other things. The same photo was reused, not just a similar one, but actually the exact same photo. I reported the buyer to Ebay with the relevant information and filed a complaint. Now Ebay is informing me today that they have asked the buyer to send the shipment back and that he will get the refund. How can that be?? I am not trading a pipe collection worth several hundred euros for a stuffed teddy! How can I make this case public, because this is an obvious fraud.

Hello @oskar_der_wikinger, I would actually like to leave the thread here as it is, since there is already the existing thread on this topic Fraud attempt, buyer claims not to have received the item . If we now opened this thread for all members to comment on as well, we’d quickly end up with several parallel discussions – and that would become rather confusing for everyone involved.

@verena@ebay could you please take a look to see whether the buyer here is actually not just abusing buyer protection more than once?

OP2 months agoThe first account was obviously deleted; now the buyer is continuing under a different name but with the same company, the same address, and the same photo.

You can also post there yourself, and everyone can reply there - here (members helping members), only a handful can write

OP2 months agoYes, I also contacted the seller who was affected as well, and he advised me to write in this forum too. Unfortunately, I completely lack the clue as to which post belongs in which forum. Today I received a message from Ebay saying that they will refund the money to the scammer in my name and that I will get the package back, probably a teddy bear. I am speechless.
I reported the buyer to Ebay immediately with all the evidence, including from the first case of fraud. Why is that being completely ignored, does anyone even look at it? I'm now afraid to list anything at all.

OP2 months agoSorry, then I completely misunderstood this forum (members help members). I also wanted to warn others about this repeated scam method. This is also the first time I've had such problems. You're so helpless and are simply left on your own. I can't find anyone to contact, but this fraudster obviously can. Then I'll try to spread the word outside of Ebay, e.g. Sellerforum etc. Still, many thanks for your efforts

What exactly do you mean by make public? You're already writing here in public, and yet you still reach the fewest users.
