The 'Enable eBay' button doesn't appear – what can I do?
Summary: vollmondzauber opened a return request on eBay due to receiving a defective item, but the seller refused to provide a return label, contrary to the rules for business sellers. vollmondzauber couldn't find the 'Contact eBay' button on the platform and sought advice. perfect-sally advised providing more details for an eBay representative to investigate. alena@ebay (an eBay representative) reviewed the case, paused it for five days, and instructed the seller to send a return label, inviting vollmondzauber to reach out again if the issue persists. vollmondzauber expressed gratitude for the assistance.
Hello everyone,
I hope someone can help me out.
On July 12 I opened a return through eBay because the item is defective and does not match the description. The seller is commercial.
However, the seller refuses to provide a return label and instead writes:
"You should have noticed when ordering that we do not accept returns. If you still want to return the item, you will have to cover the return shipping costs yourself."
As far as I know, this notice doesn't even apply to a defective item. After all, this isn't a cancellation, but a return because of a defect.
My real problem, though, is: I can't contact eBay. Everywhere it says that after the deadline, a button like “Contact eBay” or “Ask for help” should appear. The return was opened on July 12, today is July 16, but this button isn't showing up anywhere for me.
Has anyone ever had the same problem or know why the button isn't appearing, or how I can reach eBay anyway?
Thanks in advance!

Mentor3 weeks agoHello @vollmondzauber I have looked into the case and have now put it on hold for 5 days. I have asked the seller to send you a return label. If you don't get one from them during this time, please get in touch with us here again.
Thanks for the tag @perfect-sally 😘
Best regards Alena

Mentor3 weeks agoeBay is very strict with deadlines.
Please give the item number and an eBay employee can take a look at it.
And if it really is a commercial seller, then his note about not accepting returns is completely unacceptable! Commercial sellers have to offer returns; there are only very few items where that can be excluded.
@alena@ebay can you take a look at this please? Thanks a lot
