Change language on all eBay correspondence
The UI, the responses from sellers, the emails, everything is in German.
Germany is the closest country to where I live, so I use ebay.de, but how do I switch everything to English?

OP1 week agoI guess I don't mind going to ebay.com for English, though that tends to show a lot more international listings that European listings. The main issue is that every email I get, is translated into German. Even peoples original comments to buyer/seller conversations are translated into German.

Mentor1 week agoYes @fisnder0 that will stay that way too, precisely because you registered the account in Germany. If it had been registered on ebay.com or ebay.co.uk, everything would simply be in English.

OP1 week agoGoodness, that is rigid. If i re-register on a uk/us page, I'll loose all credentials and purchase history. It's hard to fathom such a penalty for a language change.

Mentor1 week agoWell, you don't really have that many purchases/ratings yet, which is also irrelevant for a buyer.

OP1 week agoI cant even use the support robot, since it doesn't understand English, barring me from any real support outside of the forum. Mind-blowing.

Mentor1 week agoWhat exactly do you want from support? They won’t give you any different answer than I do, whether in German or English. 😉 And the fact that on ebay.de the chatbot also responds in German is pretty obvious, isn’t it 🤔
The fact remains: the local language can’t be changed; it’s tied to the country of registration.

OP1 week agoFunny.

Mentor2 weeks ago@fisnder0 the local language is always used where you registered.

Mentor2 weeks agoHey @fisnder0
if you mean the communication here in the forum, you can read here how you can set a language of your choice.
As for the listings on the ebay-DE platform, they are, after all, in German.
When I look at listings on Ebay-US, they’re in English.

Mentor2 weeks agoIf you use ebay de, the language is naturally German. As far as I know, there’s nothing you can change.
