Sold twice?
Summary: zimme_6533 described a situation where they listed two flyscreen doors on eBay, which were sold on July 11. They received a subsequent notification on July 14 to pack and ship again, leading to a second sale without available stock. eBay requested a refund for the second buyer. nina@ebay, an eBay representative, explained that two sets were sold due to the listing, and payment for the first sale was already in their account while the second is held due to buyer protection. zimme_6533 asked for assistance on how the second buyer would get their refund.
I listed 2 flyscreen doors on eBay for €30. On July 11, 2026, eBay informed me that the item had been sold, please pack and ship it. The doors were packed and shipped. The buyer received the doors on July 15.
On July 14, I received another email from eBay with the order to pack the doors and ship them to another buyer. Of course, this buyer had paid the €30 plus postage, but can no longer receive any goods.
EBAy is now demanding that I reimburse the second buyer the costs, although the mistake is clearly eBay’s, since they did not delete the listing. How should I behave - in the end the goods are gone and no money?

OP3 weeks agoBeginner mistake - how does Buyer No. 2 now get his money back? This hasn’t come through for me yet, has it?

The amount from the first sale has already been added to your eBay balance and can be paid out. The amount from the 2nd sale is currently being withheld due to the buyer protection case.
