Re-link email address

Question

My decades-old private email address is supposedly already being used on eBay, but not by me. Many years ago I had an eBay account under this address, but then eBay blocked it for reasons unknown to me. I would now like to link my (new) eBay account to this (old) email address, but I can find no indication of how that might be done or how I can free up the email address.

but changing an email addy is always possible, as long as both eBay accounts remain active, and the waiting period is only 60 days, after which the change can be made. I did this myself years ago.

If you want to use an email address for a different eBay account than the current one, you must remove it from the first eBay account and wait 60 days before you can add it to the other eBay account

I can see an eBay account from 2018. Also with an address in Hamburg. As it seems, this is also your eBay account. Please enter your old email address and go to "Forgot password" if you no longer remember it. However, I don’t see any restriction on this eBay account.

If it is actually another eBay account with a different email address, please get back to us briefly, then we’ll write you an email, as I don’t want to share your data publicly.

@petersmodellbahnstuebchen Thank you ❤ Exactly, if the email address is already in use, it can’t be used again. If the eBay account is deleted, the email address is blocked for about 3 months. After that, it can be used again.

@kuf-567 I also think that the email address cannot be used again btw. if, for example, an eBay account is not used for a long time, it can happen that it gets deleted by eBay

I wouldn’t know whether the same email address can be used for a new Ebay account.
