eBay refunds the buyer the purchase price + shipping costs upon return

Hello,
I sold a spare part as a commercial seller to Italy, and the buyer paid the extra for international shipping. Upon delivery, the buyer found that the item didn’t fit. No problem, he sent the part back and I wanted to refund the purchase price. eBay’s refund form doesn’t offer any way to refund only the purchase price. The shipping costs were actually incurred, and the return wasn’t because the part was defective or anything like that.
I then called eBay and explained my problem. They said that wouldn’t be a problem, they’d take care of it. Well, as expected, eBay then unilaterally refunded the total price including shipping costs. I’ve already called customer service 6 or 7 times, each time being told to contact eBay Italy, since that’s where the purchase was processed. Every time I was also told I’d receive an email and then could present my case to a specialist department. Either nothing comes at all or I get a standard response, and nothing ever comes of it.
I’m honestly losing my patience. Especially since this isn’t the only case. Last year eBay “refunded” a total of €110 of my money to Italy, even though I had pointed out each time beforehand that this was not correct and asked them not to do it.
Emails and phone calls go nowhere because they say they’re not responsible, or they simply don’t understand me because of the language barrier.
What else can I do?!?

ich verstehe Dein Problem nicht.
Wenn ein Käufer eine Bestellung komplett zurücksendet, dann musst du auch die Versandkosten erstatten, die der Käufer bezahlt hat.
Du darfst die Hinsendekosten nicht bei der Erstattung abziehen.
Das ist im Onlinehandel schon immer so geregelt und ist nun mal unternehmerisches Risiko.
So ist es ja auch in der WRB hinterlegt:
" ... Wenn Sie diesen Vertrag widerrufen, haben wir Ihnen alle Zahlungen, die wir von Ihnen erhalten haben, einschließlich der Lieferkosten (mit Ausnahme der zusätzlichen Kosten, die sich daraus ergeben, dass Sie eine andere Art der Lieferung als die von uns angebotene, günstigste Standardlieferung gewählt haben), unverzüglich und spätestens binnen vierzehn Tagen ab dem Tag zurückzuzahlen ... "

OP5 months agoJa, stimmt. Mein Fehler. Es gab da früher mal eine Preisgrenze unter welcher der Käufer die Versandkosten nicht zurückbekommen hat. Ich glaube das waren 40€ oder so. Das hatte ich wohl noch im Kopf. Dann hat sich das erledigt.

Nennst du mir dazu bitte die betroffene Artikelnummer und wann unser Kundenservice zu diesem Fall zuletzt kontaktiert wurde? die Artikelnummer lautet 387697325750, zuletzt Kontakt mit dem eBay Kundenservice hatte ich per Mail Mitte Dezember. Kurz davor auch telefonisch, sowohl mit eBay Deutschland als auch mit einer Mitarbeiterin von eBay Italien.
