eBay ignores scam and buyer protection
Summary: konfusestapir reports that she became a victim of fraud on a sales platform. The seller changed the tracking number, which led to her complaint being rejected. Other customers also seem to be affected, as many negative reviews are being deleted. konfusestapir hopes the case will be clarified, while company employees offer support. In the end, a refund is issued to konfusestapir.
I recently became a victim of a scam that was previously unknown to me. After the purchase, the seller entered a tracking number for a letter and later changed it (after the actual delivery) to a UPS tracking number. The item number is 407035718978
Order number: 27-14812-12128
So the purchase could neither be canceled nor the delivery tracked. The delivery was made to the same ZIP code, but according to UPS it was received by someone else. eBay apparently accepts the same city as proof of shipment.
At the same time, the same seller is demonstrably ripping off dozens of other buyers, as can be seen from the feedback. A large portion of the feedback is nevertheless deleted.
The opened case was decided against me because of the fake and dubious tracking number. The appeal too. I’m shocked at how eBay tolerates buyer protection - and even worse - such an obvious scam in which dozens or even more buyers and customers are being harmed. I hope that this matter will still be looked into somehow.

OP1 month agoThanks for your feedback. The purchase was on 1/7, the case ran until 11/7, so yesterday. The subsequent objection was decided against me yesterday. A simple look at the seller is enough to recognize that this is a pretty large-scale operation. So this isn’t just about me.
