eBay account blocked - commercial seller
Summary: genmag_official received notifications from eBay about account restrictions due to an address issue despite having the correct VAT ID. Their account was subsequently suspended, and they inquired about reactivating their listings without losing rankings. elke@ebay and others advised updating the address with relevant authorities to resolve the issue. genmag_official confirmed their account has been reactivated but the listings remain inactive, seeking further assistance to reactivate them without losing business metrics.
Hello community,
a few days ago I got an email from ebay with the subject "Your eBay account will be restricted if you do not act now", asking me to update my VAT ID number. However, this was already correctly stored in ebay, so I simply clicked save again. I assumed that would solve the problem.
PS: A few days ago I changed my address because I moved.
Now I have received an email with the subject "Your eBay account is blocked from listing offers on eBay.de". My active listings were also blocked.
What do they want from me? Where do I need to enter what? Can I reactivate my deactivated listings without having to relist them? My ranking, sold items, etc. would be lost if I had to relist?
Thanks for your help
Best regards

MentorAug 16, 2026 at 10:54 AMHi @genmag_official
the details of your VAT ID at the Federal Central Tax Office are crucial. If the old address is still stored there, the system will "alarm".
You should urgently request the new details there.

MentorAug 16, 2026 at 10:52 AMHello @genmag_official , thank you very much for your post. Although you have stored a valid VAT identification number, the postal code and the street and house number do not match the authorities' records. As soon as you have corrected your details, your eBay account will be automatically reactivated, including your existing listings.
@meinehexe11 thank you very much for the mention.
Best regards
Elke

OPAug 16, 2026 at 5:39 PMWill my listings that have been deactivated then automatically be reactivated? Or do I have to list them again? Asking because of the ranking and the number of items sold, etc.

MentorAug 16, 2026 at 5:42 PM · EditedIf your offers have been ended, your listings / rankings are gone too and when it’s unlocked, you have to set them up again yourself. Your offers weren’t ended because of someone else’s fault.
And one more piece of advice for you: use your own pictures for your offers and not copied ones from the internet. You’re violating copyright, and that can get expensive.

OPAug 16, 2026 at 6:42 PMMy account has since been reactivated. My listings are still inactive. Could these please be reactivated again because of the ranking, etc.? Thanks

MentorAug 16, 2026 at 6:58 PMIt will probably not be reactivated by eBay since eBay isn’t to blame for the deactivation.

OPAug 17, 2026 at 6:51 PM@elke@ebay Above, you wrote that after activation, the existing listings would be automatically reactivated. Unfortunately, that is not yet the case. Would you be so kind and take another look? I’d rather not want to manually relist the listings because of the ranking, etc.
Thanks
