eBay customer service unreachable
I bought a Braun shaving head just under a year ago, and it broke before the year was up. The dealer is refusing the claim, and through eBay I’m not getting anywhere, since only purchases from the last 90 days are listed there. An email to eBay support bounces back, impossible to reach by phone, always busy.
Can someone help me, I just can’t get any further

Try the chat bot in Help and say "employee" or "call" (if necessary several times), then you'll also get a callback.
For items bought over a year ago, eBay or the payment service providers are no longer responsible, though.
With the seller, the warranty period depends on whether they are a business seller and whether the item sold was new or used.
However, you can check whether you still have a claim under the manufacturer's warranty.

thanks for the feedback, I couldn't get any further with the Cha-Bot, I'll try it with your tip.
It's a commercial seller who simply claims that a shaving head is a wear part and therefore comes with no warranty. I received it on August 13, 2025 and am still within the "burden of proof reversal" period

Mentor1 week ago@bmwsammler the seller isn’t entirely wrong there either! A shaving head is a wear part, why else would it need to be replaced every now and then.
Google says:
"Yes, a shaving head is a classic wear part. Due to the mechanical stress during cutting, the blades and shaving foils wear out over time".
Additional note:
"Under German law, wear parts generally come with no warranty if they are worn down through normal use. A right to repair or replacement exists only if the part already had a hidden manufacturing defect at the time of purchase or broke down prematurely due to a genuine defect"
Ebay won’t help you with this since you have to enforce your consumer rights yourself. And I seriously doubt you’d have any success with that.

OP1 week agoYes, it’s definitely a wear part that shaves worse over time, Braun also recommends changing it after 18 months, but here something inside the mechanism is broken, it makes an awful racket, unfortunately you can’t look inside. And it’s barely 12 months old.

Mentor1 week agoI think that unfortunately you won't have any luck with it if the dealer digs their heels in.
If it were a reputable dealer, they would take it back and complain to Braun about the part, because Braun actually isn't like that and exchanges it for a new one.

OP1 week agoI think so myself too, it's surprisingly a seller with 100% positive ratings and over 150,000 transactions, I just wouldn't have expected such a standard rejection there, he could just file a complaint about the item himself, if it really is an original part, which I now doubt. Service desert Germany!
