Ebay allegedly deleted the listing because it was a fake! But it’s not a fake!
Ebay deletes an listing because it is supposedly a counterfeit: https://www.ebay.de/itm/287477732756 This LP by John Lennon is an official release and can be read about anywhere, e.g. on Discogs. Through the complaint form, there is no chance of getting it reinstated. You only get computer-generated canned responses.

OP1 week agoFurthermore, I have been listed on eBay as a so-called Trusted 3rd Party for over 25 years and worked closely with the Counterfeit Dept. for decades - back then in Utah/USA. The Dept. has now been in Dublin/Ireland for many years. Lately, it has happened more often that demonstrably fake Beatles items were declared genuine by supposed experts on eBay AND with the support of AI! A disgrace......

OP1 week agoHi voli-maus, yes, sure! But it doesn’t help to show the LP here. This release is an official reissue for mfp (Music For Pleasure) from 1980 on EMI-Parlophone, also with stamped matrix numbers. The LP is, for example, officially listed on Discogs too. I definitely had the Mind Games LP in several editions - from the first pressing to the last reissue - and I’d describe myself as a recognized expert on Beatles and solo Beatles on vinyl. I once had over 7,000 copies. Just mentioning that in passing.

OP1 week agoYes, of course, if they are officially distributed by the companies that produced them or by authorized manufacturers. In the case of the Beatles, for example, after the release of the first edition, reissues were essentially produced, promoted and distributed about every 2 years. In some cases right into the 80s of the last century. These are then also original pressings of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th edition, etc. Of the HELP LP alone, around 50 official editions were produced and sold for the German market! The first 2 with the Odeon label, then Hörzu label, then Odeon again, then Hörzu, then Odeon again from 1969 on Apple, then Hörzu again, from 1976 Odeon label blue, in 1977 Apple again until in the 80s and 90s there were also Parlophone or EMI-Parlophone labels alongside Odeon. Further editions then came onto the market in the early 2000s and further so-called "reworked" sound carriers will follow in the future. This is just a bit of clarification as to why reissues are also originals - in comparison to counterfeits, bootlegs and other nasty stuff. Best regards

OP1 week agoSince no feedback is coming in and eBay isn't interested anyway, found another solution. The crazy thing is that eBay - allegedly - uses AI to detect fakes and AI is a disaster!
