Cancel eBay Plus trial membership within one day. 19.90 was still charged anyway

Hello, I have the following problem.
On 31/08 I signed up for the 30-day Ebay Plus trial membership. But I cancelled it on the same day under the 14-day right of withdrawal, and so I thought no fees would be charged to me.
However, on 02/09/2026, €19.90 was debited from my Paypal account and they took it from my bank.
I also received the official confirmation of the cancellation on 31/08/2026.
Over the last 2 days I have been talking to Ebay support. However, I am usually brushed off automatically by an AI and it tells me to contact Paypal.
I have already done the following things
Several attempts to contact them via chat. But after Ebay asks me for screenshots of the debit on Paypal, I am told to contact Paypal because Ebay can't help with that.
2 attempts to contact them by phone. One wanted me to send him screenshots of the debit as well. The other advised me to submit the cancellation again by email.
Tried everything, but so far I haven't received any replies or confirmations.
I'm a bit at a loss and hope someone here can help me

OP1 month agoYeah okay, forgetful me. I completely forgot that I already used the trial membership. But shouldn't I still get a refund if I used the withdrawal? I guess just wait until eBay gets back to me again?

OP1 month agoAny refunds that may arise will be processed in accordance with our payment terms within 14 days. Please keep this email as permanent confirmation of your withdrawal.
However, nothing had been charged at that point either. The charge only came 2 days later
