eBay is not supporting me in the context of warranty claims
Hi.
I bought an item, and it has become defective within the warranty period due to a fault.
The seller is asking me to pay €35 in shipping costs (50% of the purchase price) to send me a replacement.
Apparently I have no options to do anything about this through eBay. What do I do now?

Mentor1 week agoHello @tribal1603
If you want, I can message your seller and ask them to explain the high shipping costs.
Is that okay with you?
Best regards
Samantha

OP1 week agoYes, please. But I don't want them explained... They are absolutely unjustified, since he offers the item original without shipping costs.
In my eyes he is trying to shift onto me the warranty costs he has to pay

Mentor1 week agoHello @tribal1603
Thanks for reaching out to us. Via eBay, the buyer protection period is 30 days from the delivery date. If you're within this period, feel free to send us the order number so we can help you further.
@bootyooty Thanks for the support .🧡
Best regards

OP1 week agoThat's the point.
It's about a period of over 30 days but well within the statutory warranty period.

Mentor1 week agoEbay is not responsible for enforcing your consumer rights. Unfortunately, you have to take care of that yourself.

Mentor1 week agoHi @tribal1603 please name the order number, then @melina@ebay can contact your seller.
Unfortunately, you don’t say when the purchase was at all, or whether it’s a German-based or foreign-based seller.
Asserting warranty claims abroad is pretty much pointless.

Mentor1 week agoHi @tribal1603
You have a purchase contract with the seller, not with Ebay.
Ebay offers buyer protection for 30 days. Any warranty claims beyond that you have to enforce yourself outside of Ebay.
Without knowing the item and the item's location, it's unfortunately not possible to judge whether the shipping costs being requested are justified.
Best regards from the Baltic Sea
