eBay prevents return refunds
The seller and I agree that the returned item will be refunded. But eBay has closed the case and is ending all support requests without comment. It’s only about exchanging payment information, but eBay is preventing that too.
What can you still do in cases like this to avoid having to file a lawsuit?

if the case - what was it about again ... not received? item different? - was closed by eBay, then the drop should have been swallowed here at eBay
if you paid via PayPal, you can still try it through there
otherwise, in theory, the data would really have to be exchanged privately - however, the question also arises whether you really want to disclose that to China ... apart from the fact that these sellers like to sit it out, since abroad they care rather little about consumer rights
maybe @nina@ebay can also give you some advice on how you can proceed

OP3 weeks agoThe company had (and has again) an address near Nuremberg. China and Italy (as warehouses) were only added later. Still, I consider the company reputable. I seem to be in contact with people in Germany. The company really isn't the problem either.
I ordered a battery for my rare e-bike. From the pictures and based on the measurements, it seemed to fit. Unfortunately, the connectors didn't match. So I sent it back.
DHL lost the package and investigated for weeks. Then they found it and sent it to me. So I sent the battery to the company and they want to refund the money to me.
eBay had already closed the refund deadline by then (so much for being just a "broker platform") and made any settlement impossible for both me and the company.
Support inquiries to eBay were closed without comment.
Attempts to exchange emails or bank details were blocked by eBay.
Mobile numbers were blocked by eBay in the chat.
eBay practically unscrewed the steering wheel while we were driving.
I wonder how a company can act like this. They simply made a legal claim under the BGB impossible. How is something like that possible?

Unbelievable how quickly some users want to sue and get lawyers involved, but in the end it's just hot air.

OP3 weeks agoNo, the process has been running since April. ebay keeps getting in the way of all kinds of possible solutions. Of course they’re being sued. Regularly, by the way.

Mentor3 weeks agoIf that’s been working since April, then it probably can no longer be refunded via eBay at all.
If it’s a commercial seller, then they have a legal notice where you can find contact options, and that should make the data exchange possible for the refund. eBay is a bit weird when it comes to sending such data.
If you mention the item or case number, an eBay employee can take a look at it.

if you open this listing (item location Great Britain, seller China, evident from the item description), you’ll also find an EU responsible person for this product with contact details under product safety. Why not send them an email.
