Hello, I sold an original Louis Vuitton item. The authenticity check (whatever that is for laypeople) classified the scarf as fake. The original label is still attached; I only cut off the care label, which I still have at home. If they had lifted the original label once, they would have seen that the serial number is still underneath on the sewn-in tab of the care label. Above all, I also sent along the copy of the invoice + original delivery note. The buyer is upset; she thinks I tried to pass something off on her. I’m upset because, first, my reputation is being called into question, second, I’m losing the proceeds from the sale, and third, I’m no longer allowed to list the item online.
I spoke to eBay today, so far without a solution.
Who can advise me which way is now the best?
I find this very unprofessional, especially since they could have called me before making the decision.
Then I could have sent the original email from the purchase at LV as proof.

OP3 weeks agoAccording to eBay, I spoke on the phone today, and it was only because of the care label. The original label is on the scarf. It was shown that way in the pictures too

if the authenticity check classifies the scarf sold, which incidentally I can't find with you, as a fake, the inspectors will have their reasons and they will certainly be communicated to you.
Whether that has anything to do with the cut-off care label, I can't judge.
Was the scarf listed as new or used?
Just give the item number.

Mentor3 weeks agoIt's already clear to me that the item gets rejected if the label has been cut off. Of course it doesn't work like that. The item has to be original and undamaged. And for the authenticity check, nobody is surely going to call the sellers afterward.

OP3 weeks agoThat is correct in itself, but it does not apply. We are talking about the long washing label that is located under the LV label. The original label is on the scarf.
